There is no standard that covers every embassy and consulate. Each can interpreted the requirements differently with regard to how long the 500k needs to be in the account.

My Bamgkok Bank account is only used for my beer money and day to day cash needs. Just transfer money over for ATM needs when required. That account saved me in London recently at Heathrow as my UK account woukd not work on London Transport but Thai account did.

I went in to change address at Krungsri and they updated my visa info too - that was opened on a B and WP. There were 5000 salaries from our company going into the branch it was opened. My Bangkok Bank was opened by an agent in Pattaya at a branch thst is under scrutiny. It seems to be working fine.

Definately - My bank said to me "Visa issued by Immigration" department which would cover all of those plus the B, O and Ed.

Anonymous participant 202 Last time something like this happened the Thai Embassy in PP was burned down. You are right in thinking they may have other priorities right now.

It is not those on DTV who have been committing fraud and abuse though. It comes down to the scammers who have opened up on tourist and visa exempt. It is a general change and not aimed at DTV in particular. They are just caught up as DTV is classed as a tourist visa.

For the bank account ontqoned on a B with WP the bank will only know of a change of visa if they ask you to update details or you go in yourself to change an address for example. How elsexwill they know?

Anonymous participant 105 If they wanted to be awkward they could make sure anyone entering on the DTV still "Qualifies" for the visa AND previously abided by the conditions in previous entries (course attendance, 90 Day Reports etc). It would not end the visa but it would be pretty awkward for many.

Especially with how the political scene is now regarding Anutin etc. He has been clear he wants to change immigration policy. If I had no other visa I would apply for a DTV but as for changing I would be a little wary.

I would think the WP and B is only pertinent in that you are clear you will not be working in Thailand for a Thai legal entity or Thai clients and your income will not be from Thailand going forward. If I had no other visa I would apply for a DTV but as for changing I would be a little wary. Is the advantage cost wise?
