Just to follow up in case anyone else in Chiang Mai runs into a similar situation.

The last couple of days the puppy started getting worse, until this morning she was not eating at all, and started regular convulsions, so I called up The Veterinary office of Dr. Nook (you can look up the office & contact number on the Internet) to see if they could help, which they said they could do, but to bring in the bill from the last vet that did the diagnosis of 'distemper'.

So wrapped her up in her small bed and drove down to Dr. Nook's office on a street just south of the Old City (about 20 minutes) but by the time I got there the puppy had already passed away.

To make it clear, They will NOT provide this service lightly and you will need to show them (with documentation) that there is no hope of recovery (I already had the diagnosis of distemper, which in a puppy is pretty much 90% plus fatal, and had I made it to the office with her still alive it would have been pretty obvious there service was justified.)

This is not a place to go to to get rid of a nuance pet, but if you have a pet that is obviously in need of this kind of service (and medical evidence ... which I assume they will help provide if you are willing to pay for tests ... which I had already had available, but had I not they would have done the same tests and I assume I would have to [gladly] pay.)

The doctor on site was also helpful in guiding us through the disinfection process for the isolated room we kept her in (as we have our own dogs, and while they were vaccinated against distemper it is not always 100% effective) which consisted of a lot of bleach & water and not to let the other dogs in that room for 2 months!!)

I could have, but I needed to return to Canada (for about 3 months) then I returned to Thailand on a normal tourist visa and transferred to a marriage visa while here.

my 6 month Ed visa during the 2020 lockdown was around 24,000 (including visa.) if I recall correctly a 1 year was around 35,000.

thanks for the heads up!

so I guess my follow-up question would be who makes that determination (ability to recover) and since distemper is a serious and highly contagious animal disease who can I contact to find out how to handle this?

you must be reading your first post in this thread then.

'Global South' does not refer to geography, it refers to parts of the world that were plundered by people like you who think anyone without white European heritage can't possibly be as smart as a white man like you ... thus we have white Europeans/Americans coming to Thailand thinking the Thais don't know what's best for their own society and culture.

@Han *******
you should probably just stay home and hone up on your 'white supremacism'!

this is why 80% of the world, the global south, is working toward separating itself from people like you from the West who think he can go to other people's homes and tell them how to live their lives!

yeah, they hardly even overthrow their governments more than once a decade ;-)

here in Chiang Mai pretty much 99% masks in public, but make were not uncommon here even before because of burning season.

I don't mind really, as I haven't had so much as a sniffle since 2020, so I'll probably continue to wear one now that I'm used to wearing it and you're not considered crazy for sound so.

not sure how busy it is in Chiang Mai, but it seemed almost back to normal (pre-covid) the last 2 times I've gone downtown (old city) and it is the busy season here this time of year, so it might not hurt to start checking for a place to stay.
