apologies. I just don't get the way fellow expats get so upset with 90 day reporting. Maybe because our immigration office I Phetchaburi is relatively small and they are happy to help out if I do have any issues.
I may feel differently if I lived in Bangkok or Pattaya, who knows.
So let me get this right you go to an office to drop off your passport and then 3 days later you go and pick it up. That is better than just going to the immigration office and doing your 90 day report. Or better still spending a couple of minutes on the app.
I think I am loosing perspective. Must have been in the sun too long. 😂😂
In answer to your original question all you need is your passport with TM6 and notification of address inside. If you don't have the notification of address then take your rental agreement or signed copy of the blue House book of the property you are staying.
The process is for us as visitors in Thailand to notify Immigration of where we are staying.
you are correct. If I had allowed my stay go past my hard stamp date into amnesty then the advice from immigration was I would have to leave the country and obtain another visa.
My understanding of the process is that it is all driven by the Certificate of Entry administered by your local Thai Embassy. If I was in your position that is where I would start. They should know the company's that you will be able to buy the insurance, get the correct COVID-19 tests etc.
I am a Brit so I have no skin in this game. How can the Australian Government not issue letters when they are restricting their own citizens from returning home.
