How can I book an ASQ hotel in Thailand without confirmed flight dates?

Hi! I am currently waiting for my Visa to enter Thailand in September. However, the embassy in Spain has informed me that there are no flights and that the government will give us the available flights, so until then I won't know when I will arrive to BKK. However, one of the documents required is the hotel ASQ booking confirmation. If I do not know the flight dates... I am not sure how I am going to book the ASQ hotel. Could anyone help me out with this issue? Thanks!

TLDR : Answer Summary
An expat is facing challenges in booking an Alternative State Quarantine (ASQ) hotel in Thailand due to uncertainty about flight dates, as the embassy in Spain has not confirmed flights yet. The necessary ASQ booking requires flight confirmation, which is complicated by travel restrictions and strict entry requirements, including health insurance and PCR testing. Various community members suggest that one could potentially book with flexible dates, consider hotel options with more space in Phuket, and inquire about the COVID-related documentation needed for entry.

Hola Nuria!

Gracias!

My understanding of the process is that it is all driven by the Certificate of Entry administered by your local Thai Embassy. If I was in your position that is where I would start. They should know the company's that you will be able to buy the insurance, get the correct COVID-19 tests etc.

Best of luck.

Health Insurance ($100,000 US health insurance that covers covid)We have applied for the health insurance, however the insurance company is informing us that they can't issue the insurance since we need to pay them the service fee first with the flight details... BUT the problem is we can't have flight details till we have the insurance. Is this correct? The insurance needs to be activated before arrival and it takes 30 days, so we would need to do this asap. It doesn't make sense :(

why can't you get back to Taiwan. I thought EVA Air had been flying throughout. I know they were to London anyway, so I presume flights go on to Taiwan as well when the plane comes back

It's no problem. Doing this is therapeutic for me since I am trapped in BKK and can't get home to Taiwan (my problem is similar, but opposite lol). Posting here stops me from thinking about my difficulties, and I like helping people : )

It might be. The requirements are giving people fits. So many people with legal visas and Thai spouses and children are giving up trying to come back to Thailand for now. I don't know enough about this. There are others with greater knowledge of this process than I have in this group.

Check out this insurance. Although I'm not sure whether they want the flight details too. But it looks interesting. Plan 1 for 15'000 THB/year coverage 1'000'000 THB including COVID, is what you need to get a certificate of entry.

BTW, I'm not an agent of this insurance.

Unless you are a special person with a currently valid work permit or non-immigrant O, you won't be allowed in. TAT has just said that visitors/tourists will not be allowed in until sometime on 2021. What is your current visa status in Thailand? Then again I guess the visa you are waiting for would do that for you, yes? So you are waiting for a COE? It may take a while to get on one of those limited flights and seats into Thailand.
Paolo ***********
I don't think so. There are many cheap flights from budget airlines. Seems like Bangkok Airways,Thai Viet Jet Air, and Thai Smile.I don't know how it would work out though with the transfer at Suvanaphumi. Maybe you need to find one airline to do the whole flight on.

You also need to get a certificate of entry. Needing flight, quarantine hotel and PCR test, $100,000 US health insurance that covers covid, etc. The list is long and insane. Is this what you are trying to figure out how to do? There is a list of quarantine hotels online. Getting on those repatriation flights approved by the Thai government is very difficult and there appears to be a long wait list.

Wow thanks! Just one last question, if I choose Phuket to stay during quarantine, is the government offering the flight also from Bangkok to Phuket?

Thanks! I was about to book a hotel in Bangkok but thought that maybe in Phuket the hotels would be a little more spacious for the quarantine state. I have read that in most of the hotels in Bangkok you can't open the windows during day 0 till day 7. In Phuket there are villas with individual gardens. Does anybody know if it is possible to go out to your garden at least?

Thanks! They have informed me that Phuket hotels were ALSQ. And from Spain there aren't any direct flights... Does anybody know if there are planes arriving? No flights are available at the moment...

The ASQ hotels on Phuket are for direct flights into Phuket. Apparently only 2 hotels catering for ASQ one at 200,000bt and the other 220,000bt. You're allowed 90 minutes exercise a day out of your room.
Greg ********
@Steve ******
Yeah but are there any direct flights to Phuket at the moment outside of private?
Steve *******
@Greg *******
There must be re-pat flights or they wouldnt be advertising ASQ hotels. That's my assumption but we all know assumption is the mother of all fuck-ups!
Greg ********
@Steve ******
You would think but guys who were discussing this usually know. This is TiT (This is Thailand) and anything is possible lol

@Nuri *******
But if you fly into Bangkok how do you get to Phiket?
