Interesting, you would think that the demographic they are trying to attract with the elite visa would likely want to own businesses, or at least a good percentage of them

I was told that If I have a business here I will need to payroll myself and therefore need a work permit. Brett is right that on the website it does mention assistance with a work permit.

I want to track down a failing co-working facility and integrate about 20 rooms of co-living, something failing that I can make perform again. So, I suppose that would be the hospitality business. I’ll try to find someone in Chiang Mai to consult, although I don’t necessarily want it to be in this province. Not opposed either though.

I'm not looking for the ability to work though, but rather to start a business and invest. It appears there are two different types of one year business visas, one that is actually a year, and another that is 90 days at at time, but I may have misunderstood.

Paul Darby So if you have an ED visit and do your 90 day extension if you do not leave the country during that time you also have to do a 90 day reporting and that is not done automatically with the extension?

Does Mae Sae border run grant 30 days stay in Thailand compared to 30 days from air arrivals?

i think that was the old rule and now only applies to a few countries, but everyone else gets 30 days 2x a year

Im taking about an ED visa which is what the original poster asked about. For that you need to be here in the country on the 90 day extension.
