Does the deductible on a Thai health insurance policy impact acceptance for the Thailand Pass?

Entry Insurance deductible question:

I haven't left Thailand in years, but want to take a trip out and then back in, so I'll have to deal with this Thailand Pass nonsense.

I have a proper Thai health insurance policy (not a short term travel policy) through Luma, that's like 30M baht coverage and does include covid coverage in writing.

HOWEVER, I have a 320,000 baht deductible, because I only keep the policy only for large emergencies.

I can't get an answer from the Thai emails I've reached out to as to whether this policy is acceptable due to the high deductible, and of course I don't want to find out a week from my flight back into Thailand.

Does anyone know if the deductible matters? Or, does anyone know would be better to ask?

Thank you!

TLDR : Answer Summary
The deductible on a Thai health insurance policy does not affect acceptance for the Thailand Pass as long as the coverage amount is adequate and there is specific coverage for COVID-19. It is recommended to provide a straightforward document that outlines these details rather than a complex policy document, which may not be thoroughly reviewed.

No… they don’t care the details. As long as you give them a single page mentioned that it cover the covid and min amount insured

Interesting, following. I'm in Bangkok too! Never travelled since outbreak, I got an O retirement status that does not require health coverage, anyway, I'm researching planning to travel stateside sometime June and have no idea what I would need or require to make it outbound and inbound. Any info I would truly appreciate. Im trying to install my morchana app for covid and already having hiccups. Sorry for my frustrations.

I would just put the page showing amount of coverage and that it covers covid. ThTs what they are looking for.

If they reject can apply again.

I wonder if I can apply before I even leave Thailand lol

depends on when u r going. If you have time apply and see. If they say no - can buy and apply.

I doubt anyone can give a definite answer. I doubt they look at the fine print.

I'm thinking more about the Thailand Pass app approval after uploading the documents. I'm worried they would see that the deductible is practically as much as the required insurance amount.

Makes sense, I just want to make sure now so it isn't an issue later

I don’t know the answer, but I’ve never seen a post where the deductible has been mentioned or questioned.

The deductible does not matter. As long as the coverage amount and coverage is correct. They also need to supply a document that will be easy to read so they accept...basically a single page with all the requirements listed.

They won't look at a complex policy document to verify it meets the requirements or not.

Thanks, Luma has issued me a single page document that clearly states Covid is covered. Plus I think the Thai officials reviewing will be familiar with Luma since it's one of the big health insurers here.
