Pretty simple question. Sorry if it has been asked, but I did search before posting and didn't see a clear answer.

I am planning to fly back to the US to visit and return, which is easy for me as I have a PE visa, proper Thai health insurance, vaccinated, etc.

However, my friend wants to fly back with me under the new Nov 1 /Thailand Pass/1 night quarantine entry.

Can he enter on a 30 day visa exemption (+30 day extension), or is that not available at the moment?

He would, of course, obtain all the other requirements, like health insurance, vaccine, etc.

Thanks!

Answer summary

The post discusses the entry conditions for a friend planning to travel back to Thailand under the new Thailand Pass rules. Comments confirm that it is possible for the friend to enter Thailand on a 30-day visa exemption and to apply for a 30-day extension based on tourism. An alternative option is to secure a tourist visa that provides a longer stay.

Your friend can return with you and enter visa exempt 30 days + 30 days extension. = 60 days stay

If he wants to stay up to 90 days get the tourist visa 60 days on arrival + 30 days extension = 90 days stay.

The new evisa on line makes it easy to get the tourist visa. No need to mail in your passport to get the visa sticker placed into it. It is put into your passport on arrival into Thailand

Another mod approved it (I wasn't going to approve it because of the picture), but

>Can he enter on a 30 day visa exemption (+30 day extension), or is that not available at the moment?

He can enter on a 30 day visa exemption and get a 30 day extension of stay based on tourism.
