Animal Victims Of Katrina Are Evacuated From Mississippi

HATTIESBURG, MS - SEPTEMBER 22: Rescued pets wait in cages aboard a plane for transport to St. Louis, Missouri, September 22, 2005 in Hattiesburg, Mississippi. The pets will be taken in by foster owners until they can be reunited with their owners or placed for permanent adoption. Together the United States Humane Society and the Humane Society of Missouri have rescued thousands of pets since Hurricane Katrina devastated the Mississippi Gulf Coast and New Orleans. I travel a lot, and keep my home phone number alive for multi-factor authentication. I disable data roaming on my iPhone to avoid high costs, but still receive SMS’s.

That’s a shame, Baan Sakuna is amazing. Maybe next time! Enjoy your vacation.

If you are planning to stay in Chiang Khong for a couple of days before you cross the border (which I would recommend), Baan Sakuna Hotel & Resort is one of my favourite places in Thailand. Happy trails.

Any effect will be marginal, and probably only barely noticeable in the already busy tourist areas (which I tend to avoid). The more dominant change will probably be seen in the 93 countries / 60 days visa exemption numbers. We’ll have a better indication in a few months, when the arrivals trend data is published.

The answer to that will only be known for sure one year from now. In the meantime, in the absence of official publication, it’s all a guess.

Fine or not, I would never exceed the 59 days limit. (various countries’ arrival documents ask “have you ever over-stayed?”) Harsh I know, but if your wife’s Aussie passport got stamped with an expiry date, I understand their very strict application of the over-stay rules.
