TLDR : Answer Summary
The community discusses the potential impact of Thailand's new Prime Minister on visa regulations and costs. While some believe changes are likely to improve the current system, others are skeptical about meaningful reforms, citing past experiences and the current political climate. Specific topics mentioned include the Comprehensive DTV (Digital Tourist Visa) program and tax regulation issues that need addressing.
Theories are the same as polls, they don't mean anything.

It was always a lot easier with visas before Prayut took over so I don't really think there'll be any major changes in a whileđ¤ˇđťââď¸

Definitely they are going to make adjustments, refinements. The unlimited TV is a big mistake and when words spreads that itâs all up to the mood of the IO they will scare off too many people.
Same with the DTV. While itâs long overdue, it hasnât been properly defined so changes will come.
I bet they will also improve their funny tax regulations because currently itâs really messy and even the people from various provincies donât have a clue.
Weâll see what the future brings.
A fixed charge on immigrant visa and then exempt them from income tax might be a good idea and is fairly easy to implement. Much easier than handling all those tax returns.

What new PM. She is PM in name only run by others behind the scene
I know what youâre saying , just when speaking to my mate there seems to be a lot of worry on the Thai side according to him that things may change and not for the best , I agree who knows

I don't see how a Thai would even have any idea what a Visa costs let alone what might happen to them
