Hey folks, this one is slightly off topic … is the Aussie consulate in Bangkok open for face to face business? (my partner needs to check the status of her online visitor visa application, the website does not address her specific questions, and the phone enquiry wait time is forever)

If anyone here has visited the Australian consulate recently, I would greatly appreciate your guidance.

Thanks

Answer summary

The Australian Consulate in Bangkok requires appointments for face-to-face visits, and only a limited number of people are seen each day due to Covid-19 restrictions. They currently cannot provide updates on visa applications during the appointment, as all such inquiries are processed from Canberra. Individuals experiencing issues with phone inquiries have reported long wait times.

Thanks everyone, I appreciate your advice. And I understand that, while difficult to organise, what I am hearing here is that a face to face meeting is possible by appointment only. Keep well all.

You must make an appointment. They will not give you any updates on the visa application, as all visas to Australia are issued from Canberra.

Australian embassy in Bangkok can't assist with any queries about her Visa. You have to call but I've had no luck getting through either for over 2 weeks.

Most embassies are requiring appointments and only seeing a limited number of people per day due to Covid.
