TLDR : Answer Summary
The community is actively discussing various visa types they currently hold or plan to apply for in Thailand. There is a notable focus on Non-O visas, particularly those for retirement and marriage. Members share their experiences and eligibility related to different visa categories such as the Long Term Resident (LTR) visa, Tourist Visas, and specific retirement visa types. Many express challenges with the bureaucratic requirements for visa applications and extensions.

Why not just add 'extention of stay'? Surely it'll just add confusion to people by selecting the base of the extention, as if there isn't enough already over visas and extentions!
Extension of stay can be for many reasons, and we wanted to keep the poll as short as possible, and cover as much as possible.
If you are here under an extension of stay it is based on one of the visas listed.

Answered "not in Thailand/no visa", but when I reach retirement age and get everything sorted out at home, I intend to go to Thailand, get married and apply for Non-O Visa based on marriage. Hopefully middle of next year.

🇹🇭 AMAZING THAILAND 🇹🇭
Looks like most people with
"Visa on Arrival (VA)"
are from countries that are NOT eligible for Visa on Arrival. 🤣
I’m on a 30 extension with the 60 day exempt stamp currently. Next will be the 60 day extension based on being married to a Thai. Will eventually go back to a Non-O based on marriage.

400,000 baht after approval for a marriage visa right?
I am a combination… I am looking for a visa I can keep up and work remote without having a crazy amount of money in bank.

But you want four months advance notice complete with bank statements and a hotel booking! Then upon submission you say the visa cannot be issued until 30 days before travel! Forget going to Thailand 'Land of Smiles', it's the land of bureaucracy and wiles.
no difference. With regard to taxes that Ihave found. Spousal Visa only requires 400,000 tbt in bank instead of 800,00 required by retirement visa at the start
On paper yes one would presume that however I see Thailand has tax double tax treaties with many many many countries and as they are after money money money they will find a way around it or they will try At the end of the day it's about money in the pocket
