my understanding is that for covid ext. the stamp is 20 days from date you put in yr app. Regardless of actual end date of your current visa/ext..
Because this is just a processing time stamp. Unlike regular ext. Local officers don't have the authority to make that call on the spot, all apps are sent to Bkk immi HQ for approval. Then decision sent back to yr IO. Because yr current visa or ext will likely have expired in the meantime, this also grants you the right to remain in thailand while they make up their mind...
On the day it says on yr stamp u go back to find out.
If yr denied, you're fucked. But that's unlikely.
If yr approved, you'll get 30 days from yr previous visa expiry stamp, and have to come back after yr however many days left for another round of this shit.
Or maybe, just maybe, by then and some kind of miracle, they'll have come to their senses finally and put an end to this absurd circus, like reports keep hinting they're considering doing, and most other countries have done already,..or at least give us a break til this c19 mess is tamed..
then they should assist the gvts that attempt to repatriate their people, not ban flights at the same time, or put islands on lockdown (ie Phuket) making it impossible to leave...
And now that they want landlords to come too, it's not just farangs lives anymore..its their own people they're putting at risk...that and doubling the chances by doubling the crowd...
Could the talks of extending the tourist visa until June 30th apply to those of us already under consideration for covid extension filed in? I.e. nice surprise on the 17th to not have to come back 10 in days, then 20 days after that and so on? Trick question. I know.
But again thank you for your diligence, guidance and good work. Bit like a lighthouse in this fog π€ππ
