Does anyone have a reliable source for the list of airlines CURRENTLY flying from Bangkok to the EU?. One I can check periodically for any addition following recent announcements.

I've checked departures/arrivals on BKK page but they list ALL scheduled flights including from airlines not operating yet because covid. So most flights listed are canceled. (And DMK seems to be Asia only).

Thanks.

TLDR : Answer Summary
The original poster is seeking a reliable, regularly updated source for information on airlines currently operating flights from Bangkok to the EU, amidst numerous cancellations due to COVID-19. Several commenters provide suggestions, including monitoring specific airlines like Lufthansa, EVA Air, Qatar, Finnair, and using aggregator sites such as Skyscanner. They also discuss the challenges of relying on scheduled flights when many are canceled, as well as the difficulties with airlines like Emirates. Recommendations for checking the status of flights directly on airline websites and consulting travel agencies are highlighted.

Eva Air are showing flights every Sunday including one successfully today from BKK to LHR then from the 1st Aug there timetable shows flights will be daily.

I believe Eva air are flying out of Bangkok on a weekly basis

Try calling Trailfinders in London. Excellent customer service and they are booking flights the whole time so can often advise on reliability

...and a poss trend on prices too. So that I can book with relevant confidence when I do (in the 2nd half of july for the 27th -> 31st) and not pay through the roof either. 🀞

As for when, I'm looking to fly at end of month. But checking as of now to see if things start to "normalize" or stabilize after recent reopening of airspace...

I leave in 10 hours on Lufthansa to manchester via frankfurt.

They cancelled my flight from the 3rd to today and said there should be no further disruptions to travel going forward.

I've checked in and am still leaving as planned

I know...but looking for a trend/patern here.. and which airline seems the most reliable since the new update on situation
Freddie **********
ORIGINAL POSTER
Sorry..lag in replies..yes I've been checking BKK departures too but need to sift through all the canceled flights because it's the regular schedule but some airlines not operating atm. (Emirates is on there). So bit hard to determine which airline is operating but happens to have canceled flight and which has canceled flights because not operating here yet...πŸ€¦β€β™€οΈ
Kev **********
@Freddie *********
Emirates havent flown from here since march 23rd
Freddie **********

@Kev *****************
yep I know. They cancelled my flight on March 29th so i been keeping a close eye on them especially, hoping to use that flight voucher I was promised...but not yet issued by Expedia πŸ˜…... ugh.. what a shit show!...
Freddie **********

Please keep me posted if you find anything reliable/relevant and I will you too. (Fyi I'm trying to get to Paris) cheers!!
Freddie **********
ORIGINAL POSTER
Ok. How? Where are you looking?
Kev **********
I am going to monitor flights over the next 7 days
Kev **********
@Freddie *********
how soon ?
Kev **********
@Freddie *********
I type suvanabhumi airport into google and look at departures
Freddie **********
ORIGINAL POSTER
@Kev *****************
and not cancelling? Because that's also why I want such list, to monitor the trend in cancellations for airlines currently operating. As those still happen quite often atm.

I now have a nice collection of flight vouchers for trying to get out of here. Can't use or combine them, won't see the refund any time soon if at all, so can't afford any more, got one more shot at this. And it better not miss.
Kev **********
@Freddie *********
I am in the same situation I am also currently monitoring airlines . Ime down to Lufthansa, eva,qatar and klm are just on the list
Freddie **********

According to skyscanner Finnair flies to BKK. You go on their website and can make a booking for july. But if you dig deeper on the site you find out that unlike HK or Seoul etc, they haven't added bkk to their asian destinations for July, or August for that matter.
Freddie **********
ORIGINAL POSTER
If I check AOT it redirects me to BKK, where checking arrivals/departures is the only thing that comes close. Unless I missed something?
Freddie **********
ORIGINAL POSTER
What I'm actually after is a reliable official source that lists all said airlines. I've heard this one or that one flies from hear say, or friends flying out (Qatar, KLM, Air France)

And I've been checking skyscanner etc. But I'm a bit weary of airlines website as they have no problem advertising unlikely/speculative flights and taking your booking to later lock the funds in airline credit when they cancels. (Like Emirates would have done to me 2 weeks ago if I'd let them. Wanted to book a flight this month with a voucher from cancelled flight in March. They wanted me to pay fare difference and turns out they'not even flying..).
Freddie **********
ORIGINAL POSTER
Ok, good to know.. expecting things to be smother once airlines settled into this recent update, perhaps even more airlines joining in now too (if there was a more user friendly way to find out than going through full departure list on BKK site...)
Freddie **********
ORIGINAL POSTER
Never flew with them b4 but this, plus the fact I'll have to wait 1 YEAR for a refund, if I get one, is NOT a very good 1st impression....
Kev **********
@Freddie *********
great to fly with just shocking how they have left people they ha e cancelled 7 flights from bkk for me so far . I've been looking a Lufthansa they ha e been leaving and ate leaving today. I just type in suvanabhumi airport departures into google
Freddie **********
ORIGINAL POSTER
@Kev *****************
7!?? Holy crap!.. and you had to pay again for each rebooking or just transfered funds to next one?
Kev **********
@Freddie *********
Lufthansa are the most honest I asked them if they will be flying at the end of the month as they are flying 3 times a week from bkk but they said the way things are they wont guarantee
Freddie **********
ORIGINAL POSTER
And if most of Lufthansa's 3x/wk flight are taking off now, or even if not, you'd think things can only get better...right?πŸ˜ΆπŸ˜…
Kev **********
But when I asked them that they gave no guarantee
Kev **********
@Freddie *********
my thoughts exactly
Freddie **********
ORIGINAL POSTER
@Kev *****************
well at least they honest, like u said.
Kev **********
@Freddie *********
Emirates would have promised the earth . And it surly can only get better . In my opinion but the thais just will not open the airport fully
Freddie **********
ORIGINAL POSTER
@Kev *****************
the airspace is open now yes. But still too many restrictions on the flow of falangs for airlines to b in any rush to resume flying in/out of here (exept the ones that never stopped). Too much hassle for not enough profit. But as (or if) more step in, which might happen after wk 1, fares may b more competitive...wishful thinking hereπŸ˜‰
Kev **********
@Freddie *********
apparently Lufthansa haven't stopped flights from bkk during this whole pandemic
Jefrey *****
@Kev *****************
all. Flights cancelled

Lufthansa said they only fly 1 manc per month home.

N I'm that fucking manc

Korean Air has been making regular flights to Europe.
Doug **********
I would check with Kiwi. Com. They have most of the airines in their results.
Danny **********
Lefthand and Swiss Air are flying. I'm flying to Spain but actually re booked a flight today with Lufthansa to Swiss air on the 29th July. Skyscanner prices are not to bad. But would suggest book direct with the airline.
Borja *********
@Freddie *********
,ya ok , i had also similar experience with thai embassy when caming here from bali last 21 march ,...anyway looks like they going do anouncement soon , hopefully not end of july!!!! ,so u think best option is just wait and get a ticket likely end of july with 2-3 days bfor te flying date, and what u mean with "pay through the roof??"...
Freddie **********
ORIGINAL POSTER
@Borja ********
if you can afford it, wait until the last minute to book. Because you'll be paying a lot more for the same seat.
Borja *********
@Freddie *********
this is totally baffling , also about inmigration didn't say nothing yet ,what kind of plan or booking ticket can u do??? with this international flight situation is rediculous they don't make more extension ,but if there is something i learn in this more than 20 years in indonesia and thailand is that with inmigration , embassies and governments u can expect anything!!!!!
Freddie **********
ORIGINAL POSTER
@Borja ********
yep! Remember they announced the amnisty mid April for visas ending after March 26, which by then would've been on 3 wks overstay. So I did my extension for nothing like I'm sure 1000's of others, locked in the country after a cancelled flight.

Now IF they extend amnesty, they might announce it mid August too πŸ˜….

And to have a better chance (but still not 100%) to be sitting on that plane, best u book it 2 days before and pay through the roof...πŸ™„
Freddie **********
ORIGINAL POSTER
At this point in time if you want real answers you might as well flip a coin. The probability is about the same.
Borja *********
ok
@Danny *********
, i am waiting for the amnesty anouncement , then if there is no more extension , need to leave to spain , but now many flights are cancel just few days bfor the flying date ,if we get the 29 july flight to spain and after is cancel (quite posible) then we need to go to overstay and pay later?? ....or you are quite sure the flight on 29 july sure is going be??
Borja *********
@Danny *********
then is oly 1 stop is quite good , same as go to madrid ,so of course you in thailand now and in the visa amanesty ,right?
Danny **********
@Borja ********
yep been here a while!!!
Freddie **********
ORIGINAL POSTER
Anyone have (recent) experience with finnair ?
Borja *********
i want go to madrid , anyway i guess your flight to alicante is not directly ya?, just check skyscanner , show 3 options , qatar (the best only 1 stop) ,finn air and lufthansa (2 stops) ....
Borja *********
I also interest in flying to spain , plz
@Danny *********
can u give clear info with that flight to spain on 29 july? , where i can check it? directly to swiss air ot lufthansa? , i need 2 tickets ,....
Danny **********
@Borja ********
Yes I have 1 stop in Zurich.
Danny **********
@Borja ********
Go on skyscanner.net and just select the 29th the flight should come up if still available.

My flight is to Alicante. Not sure where you want to go to???
Freddie **********
ORIGINAL POSTER
@Danny *********
yep booking direct for sure.. Expedia still hasn't given me confirmation for airline credit they promised after flight canceled in March. And they've been playing hard to get..
Kev **********
British embassy stopped giving info on flights . I also need to book a flight to uk preferred Manchester

Second this. I have friends working as pilots for EVA. They haven’t stopped flying even during the pandemic so worth to check flights availability.
J ******************
Not all airlines that have been using BKK have flights every day ,there is a pandemic on .May need to check other apps ,there are many.

The UK in Thailand page were giving regular updates on flights from BKK to UK/Europe but no idea if they still are or not.
