all embassies and consulates are going to E-Visa only, it is a far better system for everyone, I got my electronic DTV Visa from the consulate in Vancouver Canada in 2 days, very simple straight forward process, saves everyone a lot of time and effort
I have been down this road, I am self employed, I did everything I could possibly think of, the Thai consulate even helped me, but in the end I was not successful as a remote worker, so I switched to "soft power activities" and got my DTV Visa easily. They like people to work for a company with a letter that states they are able to work remotely, when you are self employed it does not seem to work, at least for me it did not
I was unsuccessful as a business owner, it seems they want a letter from an employer saying you can work remotely, I tried to write my own letter, giving myself permission to work remotely, which is 100% accurate, but in the end I changed categories to "soft power activities" and got my DTV Visa easily that way, lesson learned
