Hi everyone

I applied for the Thailand DTV visa and I just received a request asking for copies of my last 3 payslips.

I’m a freelancer / independent contractor, so I don’t receive payslips. I issue monthly invoices and then receive the payments by bank transfer.

Has anyone been in the same situation?

Should I upload an explanation letter together with the invoices? Or what can I do

Approved Workcation DTV in Indonesia

Applied 20th January:

Revolut bank statement, work contract and letter stating remote/not work in Thailand. Passport but couldnt upload full. Balance over 500k baht but not fully seasoned in one account.

Further documents requested 5th Feb:

All passport pages

3 months of statements showing balance requested.

Uploaded personal statement explaining funds transferred from different wallets/accounts. Showed as much as possible but without overloading with pages. Highlighted balances and salary payments on first pages of pdf.

Approved 16th Feb.

Partner also approved. We both wrote sponsor letters for each other, not sure if this helped.

Hers took longer and she had to ping the Facebook page of Thai embassy and they responded quickly.

She had gone from request docs->pending approval->back to to document check

Had to demonstrate her salary, paid in crypto was legit and from her company, wallet address was on her contract and matched her payments.

Soon I will be applying for the 90-Day Visa from the US, then when in Thailand extending the Visa to 12 months. Is there a website that shows definitively the steps to do so. and what documentation is required by the immigration department in Thailand?

Hi, thought I would briefly post my experience of visa extension, retirement visa. I went with a friend who was applying for their extension. Bank took two days. Then ended up freezing account for 4 months. Has to be done. In case my elderly and frail friend is a Cambodian scammer or operating mule accounts. Then back to immigration. 12 folders. Then told TM 30 and rental contract and payment slips not enough. Even with every other detail and proof.

Go back and get a signed copy of their ID. Several large photographs of my friend in front of and inside their rental house. Large colour print out of the location from google earth.

Ok. Did that, back to immigration. No. Now you need the rental contract to be a year. And when you do that, if we grant retirement visa, you will be visited every month by the police. Given that my friend already owns several condos elsewhere.1200 k away, that seems somewhat harsh. So essentially they have to leave in the middle of their extended holiday. Fly back to their nearest airport, take a taxi some 150k go to an immigration office there and hope they dont come up with another set of rules. Then taxi back, another flight all to extend a retirement visa. They dont like us. They dont want us here. Thailand for Thai's. I should add the banks cheery assertion that document given out by them would be good for 24 hours for bank book and four or five days for statements was met with refusal by immigration. ''Go back and get them today.'' And no I wont name the provincial office. My friend still has to deal with it.

Thailand Destination Visa (DTV) approved in two working days.

• Applied Wednesday at 4:00 PM

• Approved Friday at 7:20 PM

• Application submitted in Ho Chi Minh City

• Applicant: Canadian, applying as a company employee *(*my *own S*aaS *company)*

The key was submitting well-structured, clearly indexed document packages. Everything was organized in strict page order with a glossary for fast review.

Documents Submitted

1. Current Location Package (Vietnam)

• Cover letter

• Glossary of documents

• Valid Vietnam visa

• Passport entry stamp

• Flight ticket and full itinerary

• Accommodation booking showing temporary address

• Location photo evidence

• Matching dated receipt for verification

2. Financial Package

• Cover letter and glossary

• Most recent balance confirmation

• Monthly paystubs (July–December)

• Corresponding multi-month bank statements

• Annual employment income summary T4

• Prior 2024 year Canadian tax return

3. Employment & Portfolio Package

• Cover letter and glossary

• Canadian company profile

• Full-time employment contract

• Remote work authorization letter

• Company registration documents

• Funding and financial backing materials

• Startup program acceptance letters

Everything was designed to be self-explanatory, easy to verify, and consistent across packages.

If you are preparing a DTV application, organization and clarity matter just as much as eligibility.

I am Applying for a DTV in the US. For proof of where I am currently living, does anyone know if a bank statement for where i currently reside would be adequate? My Driver Licensee is out of the area for Thai Consulate that I will be applying, so I hope thats not going to hinder the process. Thanks.
