“Permanent or conditional residents should apply for a re-entry permit if they will be outside the United States for one year or more. While it is valid, a re-entry permit allows you to apply for admission to the U.S. without having to obtain a returning resident visa from a U.S. Embassy or Consulate.”
Direct from USCIS.
I was told directly from an agent when we were entering America that she must return every 364 days or get a re-entry permit.
I did the maximum. I can’t remember exactly the amount but it was 3-4 transfers to get to the million baht to buy a truck. I think in the $10,000 range. It took a couple of days.
I did my first marriage extension in Ubon. My second in BKK. They acted like it was a big deal but in the end it was granted with no issues. The third was a transition to retirement (tired of the marriage extension drama) in Jomtien and again, no issues.
because I want to and it’s my money that I can spend in any manner of my choosing. Also because no one is going to deny me if I move. I’ve done extensions in Ubon, Bangkok and Jomtien and never had an issue.
How about you worry about you and I’ll worry about me?
