Hello. If a Thai lady married to a foreigner changes her last name, does it affect the right of land ownership or causes deprivation of any of her rights?

TLDR : Answer Summary
Changing her last name after marrying a foreigner does not affect a Thai woman's land ownership rights or any of her legal rights, as long as she retains her Thai citizenship. Multiple commenters confirmed that name changes had no impact on property ownership and that any legal documents can be updated without loss of rights.

My wife chose not to, and I was fine with it.

Her reason was she would need to change her name on her degrees , accreditations ,licences, accounts ,land titles, etc.

She's a qualified accountant/external Auditor and vp of a large finance /accounting firm here in Thailand. A lot of headaches to get it all done.

Having said all that, it wouldn't of had any affect on her status.

I would say no as I believe they would still some form of Thai identification with their family name to resolve any such issues that may arise. This is my thinking on this subject.

As long she keeps her thai citizenship should not make any difference.

My Thai wife changed her name and it made no difference. She already had land & property before we married and they are now registered in her married name.

My wife changed her name, became a US citizen and it had zero impact on her rights here.
