You just need to prove that you're physically in the country you're applying from.

Men de har inte listat nånstans att man måste visa bankutdrag vid förlängning av visum. Vi får se hur saker ser ut januari när folk gör sina första förlängningar 👌

It's supposed to be an extension from your last extension's end date. But check and make sure they stamp the right dates before you leave.

I told them I wasn't a resident and they said I can apply there

I'm applying next week in Hong Kong.

I'm from Sweden. Emailed the consulate in HK and they said I can apply there.

Proof of location isn't listed as a requirement in the official documents but is in the e-visa system. I'm going to upload my hotel booking and see what they say. But I also have a rental condo in Sweden with a contract, but it's not in English, so that might be an issue if they want an official translation.

I just emailed them and asked, didn't mention that I was swedish before they said I could apply.

You can go to the e-visa site and pick your nationality and location and it will tell you if you can do it there 👌

Hong Kong allows applications there too. It's closer than Korea.
