TLDR : Answer Summary
There appears to be a misunderstanding regarding the need for immigration permission for DTV holders to travel to other provinces in Thailand. Community responses clarify that there is no requirement for such permission, countering claims made in a recent post.

Source? If there is no such rule, then there should be no issue with requesting official confirmation from immigration. Feel free to do so and report back with their response,

.

Given the inconsistencies in immigration enforcement, it is reasonable to verify rather than assume no such requirement exists. Until then, dismissing discussions on immigration procedures without verification does not contribute to clarity.

you are an absolute troll for suggesting this policy or rule exists. Since you made the claim, you provide the proof.

On what basis is anyone in Thailand on any visa or extension required to get approval to move? I'll tell you, no one. You are required to inform, via TM30, TM27, but you do not need permission.

you require proof that things don’t exist? If you’d like to go to your immigration office and ask them for a list of things that aren’t regulated then I’d be interested to see their response.

Or would you rather someone else do that for you? Perhaps every rumour that is passed around should be checked with immigration? Again, I nominate you to be the one that goes and asks them. I have a short list of things you could check with them and report back to the group.

Your help is much appreciated.
