I am moving to Thailand in June, and once I have secured my retirement visa I will have my 1 year old 24"iMac sent over from the UK.

Customs will charge me 7% VAT as it's imported, but I am unsure what tax they will add.

I could have it sent to my friend who works for the government as that might avoid heavy taxes ( thinking it is for official use)

Any thoughts dear friends?

Hi all. I brought 2 Rolex watches with me as personal belonging 6 months ago into Thailand from UK. As I live here I wanted the set with me. My dad shipped the empty boxes recently but the depot is holding the package as they want to see whats inside. How do I go about getting them safely? The boxes are not worth much. Do I say dad sent a gift over? I dont really want problems if they suspect I have the watches and suspect im selling.

Need advice. I’m on a renewable one year guardian visa. Am I eligible to tax exemption for my moves re furniture and personal belongings. I have been told by some movers that relocation tax exemption is only for people with a proper work visa? Any experience and advise to share will be much appreciated. Thank you.

Hi.

Anyone knows about import duties and fees, taxes etc into Thailand?

My friend would send me a (1600usd worth) laptop from USA to Thailand, Phuket.

I was enlightened by someone that ill have to pay extre on top of the shipment cost, i already pay for fedex.

Ive been researching for it but confusing numbers all over the place.

Probably somwone here from US would know it better or anybody.

Thanks :)
