Can I ship personal items to Thailand on a DTV visa?

Hi everyone, has anyone had experience shipping boxes (moving from Australia to Bangkok) to Thailand on a DTV visa? I'm looking to ship a couple of boxes of personal items e.g. books, clothes, home items etc but wondering if this was feasible given that the DTV is a tourist visa and I'm not sure whether it can be cleared through Thai customs.

TIA

TLDR : Answer Summary
Shipping personal items from Australia to Thailand on a DTV visa is possible but subject to standard customs regulations, meaning you'll likely need to pay import duties. Experiences shared by others indicate varying costs based on the volume and nature of items shipped, with some reporting unexpectedly low duties when declaring items as used personal belongings. While some suggest taking items as luggage instead of shipping them due to less scrutiny at the airport, it is advisable to prepare for customs fees.

I shipped a 20ft container from Singapore, so it's definitely possible. There is duty; though I don't know how much, it was apparently reasonable. Think mine was estimated around US2500 - I had furniture, electronics, sporting goods...

We shipped a 3 cubic meter crate of personal items a few months ago from London to Bangkok. Maybe 35 boxes.

We put a low value and “used” on everything in the inventory.

The shipment cost £1,300 and we were only charged £200 in import duty in Thailand which was way below my expectations. I was prepared for maybe £1000 based on stories I had heard. We used Seven Seas and they handled the clearance for us. They were excellent.

Note we didn’t ship any electronics or large furniture items, mainly just personal effects and household items.

You'll be subject to usual import taxes and fees. Better buying things here and selling your belongings at home.

I regularly ship stuff from Aus to Thailand.

Depending the value of your stuff you will pay import duty. For example a $500 package for me I’ve paid 3000 baht tax.

Personal effects maybe different

They will be treated like regular imports and subject to customs tax. No tax free import of personal goods on DTV
