I’m looking for some advice and real experiences regarding the DTV application, as I’m currently a bit confused 🙏

I applied online for the DTV as a freelancer / remote worker for an Italian company, and uploaded all the required documents (financial proof, engagement letter, CV, etc.).

I hold an Italian passport and I am officially resident in Italy, but I am currently in Bali (Indonesia) on a valid visa.

I submitted the application under the Italian embassy / jurisdiction, using Italian documents as proof of residence.

The application progressed normally (pending document check → pending approval), but then I received a request for a “Flight ticket departing from Italy.”

This is where my doubt comes in:

* I won’t be returning to Italy before going to Thailand,

* I haven’t purchased any flight yet because I’m waiting for the visa outcome,

* I don’t want to submit incorrect or misleading information.

Has anyone experienced something similar?

* Did you upload a cancelable booking or flight itinerary even if you were not actually departing from that country?

* Is this a standard request linked to the embassy jurisdiction, or can it become an issue if you don’t physically depart from there?

* In cases like this, is it better to explain the situation, or simply upload a flight itinerary consistent with the application?

I know there’s still a lot of confusion around the DTV and procedures seem to vary, so any real-life experience would be really appreciated 🙏

Can METV get denied at immigration?

Hello everyone, I know immigration is become very strict this year and there are people who got denied with a SETV (single entry tourist visa). Is a METV “stronger” in front of an immigration officer? Can it get denied? For context, I am 19 and can’t apply to DTV because the requirement is 20 yo. Thanks 🙏

I have 2 entries on visa exemption this calendar year with a total of 68 days, but in case they check the “last 12 months” it would be 3 entries with 86 days total in Thailand (all well spaced out). Of course I have never overstayed, maxed my exemption, or abused the system, I just have some free time this year thanks to my university schedule.

Hi all please may I ask some questions: If my kids (Italian passport holders) come back to Thailand, how long can they stay with a Thai E-visa? And what about just entering as a tourist without a visa—how many days can they stay, and can it be extended? If yes, for how long? Thanks in advance 🙏

## DTV approved but with error.

I'm italian holding an italian passport, living in Malta. Just got my DTV approved but in the vista it's stated:

Passport / TD: Malta

I assume it should be Italy.

Nationality is correct though.

Trying to call the embassy but no reply now.

Is this going to be an issue?

Hi everyone! I submitted one week ago a tourist visa request for 90 days (single entry). I’m Italian so I applied online through the royal Thai embassy of Rome.

Yesterday I’ve been asked to reupload proof of accommodation and round trip flight from Italy. I’ve done so and today I received this very vague email, saying my application was cancelled without any explanation.

Anyone had a similar case?

I don’t mind reapplying again but if I don’t know why the application was cancelled in the first place I risk getting rejected once again.

I applied for a normal TR Visa and it was DECLINED with the reason "place of issue in e-visa system not match with passport"... for understanding: I hold an italian passport but living in Germany. Place of issue was Hannover, Germany which I wrote in the e-visa system. This information is NOT visible on the first passport page of an italian passport which you also upload. Therefore Thai embassy said that place of issue would be Italy which is different than what I stated in the e-visa system.

I already wrote them a mail together with the page in my passport showing it was issued from the italian embassy in Hannover, Germany.

What should I do if they not accept this and want me to start a new visa process? My flight goes already next week and honestly spoken in my point of view this is a mistake by the embassy and not me.

Good morning, I have two questions (italian passports)

1. Our daughter is coming to visit for the summer, she has a 60 days tourist visa single entry, she might want to visit neighboring countries can she get a re-entry permit within the validity of the initial stay? If yes can she then still extend the duration of her stay by 30 additional days?

2. Our second daughter will be leaving Thailand to complete her studies back home. She has an extension of stay based on school valid until jan 2025, do we need to cancel it before she leaves or just leave and let it expire (she is 16 years old).

I have a question. I have dual Nationality: Italian and Brazilian. Have been in Thailand for a while. Now my tourist visa expires (I am using my Brazilian passport) I now want to go to Europe and use my Italian passport. Can I leave Thailand using my Brazilian passport and enter an European country from EU using my Italian passport? I plan to stay in Europe for a while. Many thanks in advance.

The only thing I couldn't find is the following question.

I am Italian and I reside in Australia, I am not an Australian citizen but I am a resident.

Would i be able to apply the METV from Australia even if my home country is Italy?
