Hey everyone. I started saving toward the 500,000 THB requirement for the DTV visa last month, but I had to dip into it after my dog went missing for a few days. Thankfully, he was found safe, but I was abroad at the time, so the situation became unexpectedly expensive.
I am still relocating to Thailand with my remote work, but I will not have the full 500,000 THB until January, and from what I understand, the funds need to be maintained for 3 months+.
As a US citizen, my plan is to enter Bangkok on a tourist visa first. I originally planned to leave in February to apply for the DTV visa in Indonesia, but I am now considering extending my stay instead due to the timing of reaching the 500,000 THB. Based on my understanding, I can extend a 60 day tourist visa by 30 days, but would that reduce my chances of DTV approval later?
Would appreciate any suggestions. I know the process is becoming stricter, and I want to maximize my chances, especially since traveling means placing my dog in a hotel while I am abroad. Thank you!
Regarding the money requirements for the RETIREMENT PURPOSES - 50 YEARS OLD (NON-O), reference attached from Immigration.
How is it possible to comply with 5.1, 5.2 & 5.3 to be all on the same date you actually go to immigration?
*"(Documents under 5.1, 5.2 and 5.3 must be issued and updated to be the same date of the Application **and all documents must be in the Applicant’s name.)"*
Can anybody tell me please weather as a married couple each person has to show 20k THB when arriving at the Bkk airport to immigration? Thanks for your time.
