Hello all! Quick question for those that have gone thru the DTV Visa process. We are all set to move over in about a month. My question specifically entails setting up private medical insurance in Thailand. Did you guys set up medical insurance before or after arrival? Also looking for some good recommendations for heath insurance brokers.

Hi Guys.... is it just me that's so confused over which health insurance I need in order to apply for nonO visa through thai embassy🫣. I expected nothing is cheap but im getting so many different prices...and shocked by some..am i even googling the right insurance🤷‍♂️...that's why I ask you experts here 🙏. Is it best to pay annually?... monthly?.. how long do I take this out for as my plan is to go on to a retirement visa. I am currently still in Perth Australia, I am looking at applying for the new DTV visa soft power option for medical treatments for my menopause, I am in touch with Samitivej Thon Buri hospital at the moment, what I am wanting to know is, can I apply for medical insurance and if so can anyone recommend an insurance company that will cover this sort of treatment, preferably one where I can just submit a claim without having to pay for it in advance, thanks

I will be eligible for my mention in May next year to considering where I want to live for rest of my retirement. Looking at 2 options-Australia as I've travelled there a lot or Thailand which I've heard a lot about.

I am NZ citizen born in NZ. How difficult to get a Visa-what kind of Visa would I need to be able to live there & how much would it cost & where would I apply?

I can see that I could probably rent an apartment for 10,000 THB per month roughly but what about all the other expenses-what does it cost you to live there per month-power/internet/insurance/I would have a motorcycle to get around so fuel/eating out (as apartments generally have no cooking facilities). Do you need medical insurance? Doctor?

If you want to meet someone around your age to get married how sincere are they-loyal, or are they jsut after your money? Where do you start?

Basically I would just want to be able to afford to live comfortably with tidy apartment maybe Hua Hin, meet someone nice & do some touring around the country & occasionally go on an overseas trip-provided it's affordable. It sounds like maybe some people make it happen but are they relying on extra savings or investments to survive or can they manage on their pension as obviously you can't work on your visa over there ,whereas in Australia I would probably keep working doing what I'm doing in NZ.

My Thai wife of 12 years and I intend moving to Thailand later this year but the medical insurance is prohibitive, will the right visa allow me to use public hospitals or is there an alternative to private medical insurance.

Back to working on my visa options. Do you know if nomad insurances like safety wing etc are accepted by the Thai government as insurance for a retirement visa?

About to book insurance! Thai general insurance association quotes 12150 baht. Luma and axa are far dearer for 6 months. Why do I see members booking Luma and axa? Is there a reason for this?
