About to book insurance! Thai general insurance association quotes 12150 baht. Luma and axa are far dearer for 6 months. Why do I see members booking Luma and axa? Is there a reason for this?

TLDR : Answer Summary
The post discusses the differing costs of insurance plans in Thailand, specifically comparing quotes from the Thai General Insurance Association (TGIA) at 12,150 baht to more expensive options like Luma and AXA. Comments suggest that while Luma and AXA are pricier, they provide more comprehensive travel medical coverage, which is a crucial consideration for expats. Additionally, there is mention of varying customer service experiences with Luma, and a recommendation to consult an insurance agent for better guidance.

The TGIA insurance is for Covid only. The Luma and AXA plans are full travel medical insurance.

Speaking about Luma, my former boss purchased the insurance plan through Seek2insure and was happy with their after-sale service.
