My husband has a DTV and we are thinking to put me on his visa, we weren't married when he applied for the visa. I normally apply for METV when I go to Thailand. If I was to go on his DTV am I able to enter on the DTV if he wasn't present? I am planning to go to Vietnam next year to visit family but will be staying longer than he will be. Will this be an issue?

It is a tad bit of semantics. You don’t get added to his visa. Instead, you apply separately, based on being a dependent of someone who has a DTV. So you submit the application, fee, proof of funds, proof of relationship, a copy of his DTV. Once approved, your DTV is separate from his. You come and go when you want

Yes you can travel independently on a DTV dependent visa. Plenty of posts in this group have confirmed that.

You cant add yourself to his visa. But you can definitely apply for a DTV defendant visa based on his. With the financial requirements. That would then be your own individual visa. You would not have to enter together.

You will have to apply separately for DTV as a dependent. He is required then to have 1 million baht in his bank account for both of you. And you need to provide your marriage certificate. In case your application gets approved you will have your own DTV and be able to come and go as you please, with or without him
