I know this has probably been asked a lot but I can’t find any answers. I am going to Thailand in January. Where is the best place to get the Covid health insurance certificate and the confirmed Asq hotel booking . I also read the hotel booking is no longer required because they are doing the new test that gives you results in 15 minutes and all you do is go to one of the hotels . How do I know which hotel to go to for the test and arrange that . Sorry just a little confused . Please help. Thanks .

Hi everyone. The plan is to fly into Thailand in September. I have booked asq hotel which I can easily cancel and some flights with KLM on a flexible ticket. How far ahead do I need to do the COE application? It's asking for a vaccination certificate which I don't have yet due to only having one vaccination so far. Also do I need to get my visa and insurance before doing the COE? Or can I apply then add those things in after?

Please help me as I need to get this done ASAP before I fly out on 30 April. Going on Team Viewer with me will help me tremendously please. My email is: mrjohnbougas@gmail.com

SA is 5 hours behind Thailand to schedule a time! Thank you in advance. John B

So how do I plan for a late arrival into BKK due to delay on the part of the airline?

United just changed my flight (for the 17th time since Dec 2019) to now include an extra connection with a 45 min layover into LAX b4 I board my flight onto Narita/Tokyo!!

My initial plan is (1) contact ASQ hotel (2) contact insurance agent/company (3) edit details via CoE

What else should I plan for? And how am I supposed to come up with new paperwork when I’ll probably be camped out in a terminal corner somewhere. Some airports have crappy wifi and minimal outside mobile connections also!

Issues with fit2fly, RT-PCR test?

Just wanted to say a big thanks to all for the helpful advice and guidance. I’ve finally gone through the pre-flight visa/CoE application process and wanted to give any newcomers my experience:

- I’m a UK citizen back home at present. I’ve applied to return to Thailand with the STV (90days extendable 2x).

- obtained medical insurance cover from Tune for B20k (for 180 days cover) on 19Feb to start the process (policy schedule issued);

- submitted my e-visa application on 22Feb. Visa fee was £60. This was approved next day;

- passport mailed to Embassy in London by Special Mail and visa issued on 25th; passport received back by me next day;

- submitted application for CoE pre-approval with indicative ASQ hotel and proposed flight. This was approved on 28th (a Sunday!)

- confirmed my ASQ hotel reservation (Furama Silom, cost B32k) and booked return flight (Qatar Airways from London to Bangkok via Doha, cost £483) and submitted all these confos for final approval and CoE issuance on 29th. CoE was issued by the Embassy less than an hour after submission!

- took my Covid PCR test at Boots yesterday and received certificate with negative results today (cost £120). Recommended with easy booking at your nearest Boots which offers the testing service;

- made on-line request to “Gogodoc” and had a 5 minute telephone consultation with a U.K. registered GP at 4:20pm this afternoon with Fit to Fly certificate issued within the hour (cost £72.50). Recommended for responsive service from U.K. based GP pool. Cost is comparable with other U.K. providers of the FtF.

So, this whole process has taken me less than 2 weeks. Thai Embassy in London quickly

approved my visa and CoE. The result of the PCR test was provided within 24 hours. My FtF certificate quickly issued today. So, I will now fly back to Bangkok from Heathrow on Saturday afternoon. Then to endure a 14 day quarantine!

To anyone who is planning on going to Thailand under the visa exemption scheme.

This is the normal 30 day stamp that was issued to qualifying countries that could enter Thailand without a visa. This was suspended in April 2020.

This has now been recently reactivated and now to cover quaratine. They have added another 15 days.

You do not need to visit an embassy to get this exemption as it is done when you go through immigration.

All you need to do is apply for your COE from this website.

[members only] and select non Thai option.

Ideally do this from a computer and use a scanner or a good phone camera if you have one. You will need this for passport photo page.

Once you select your language you will have 3 drop down menus.

First one is select your country of origin.

Second one is select your embassy.

Third one is select the option medium term visitor - Visa exemption.

If you select Medium term visitor - TR then you need to get a visa.

But as this is the visa exemption you do not need to go to your embassy or consulate but just complete the first part of your application filling in your personal details. On the agency part. Leave it empty. This is only if an agent is doing this for you.

Once you done that. You will be requested to upload documents.

The first part is your passport. Just scan or get a good clear photo of your passport photo and save this to your computer. Ideally have this on your desktop. Find the passport photo and then when you have selected it click on the upload button. It is like an upside down T with an arrow. You need to click this to upload the photo of your passport page.

Second part is attachments for further consideration. In this area you upload your return flight eticket and highlight all your flights on this. They want to see you have a flight to return home. Upload this.

Also find in your insurance policy wording the following.

You are covered for the amount your policy covers you. That it covers you while in Quarantine and also says this covers you for covid 19. Scan this section and highlight this. Upload this.

The third and last is upload your insurance policy document that has your name, DOB, policy start and finish. Medical amount cover and also the full insurance policy wording.

Once that's all done. You should get an email confirming they have your application.

You will get a 6 digit number.

If you get en email rejecting your application. They will usually state why. They rejected mine due to flight ticket. So what I did was highlight my flights which in my case was London to Doha - Doha to Bangkok and the return flights from Bangkok to Doha and Doha to London. But please highlight this so they see this.

Go back to the website and click check result and put your passport details in and just add your first name and surname. Do not put middle names in and then your 6 digit code and correct any issues.

In the end they accepted my application.

Then you need to get your ASQ Hotel booked, paid for and get from the hotel your confirmation letter that you have paid with all your booking details etc

This will be the key piece of info for the second and final part of your coe.

Go back to the website and click check the result. Put your passport number, first name

Surname and 6 digit number.

When you get to the second part of the application complete the required details and then upload your ASQ confirmation letter and upload it. The other documents you did in part one should be there and once you check everything is good. Save it and you will get another email to confirm they have it and eventually you get your COE.

Also as advisable look up on your respective country embassy page and find the part where it states the visa exemption is back in force as some people have been held up when checking in at the airport. So have this available to hand. This link is for the embassy in London but clearly states this

[members only]

The vienna embassy also states this
