Hi, i will arrive in Bkk on 8 Nov and since Thailand Pass is not ready, i may have to apply for COE instead. In this case , does my ASQ hotel booking be for 1 night and insurance 50,000 USD? Because the conditions for COE is 100,000 USD insurance.

TLDR : Answer Summary
The user inquires about applying for a Certificate of Entry (COE) to enter Thailand, questioning whether they need to book an ASQ hotel for one night and if insurance coverage of $50,000 suffices since the requirement for COE is typically $100,000. Commenters respond with varying opinions, suggesting that adherence to the current rules for COE is necessary, which includes the $100,000 insurance and the ASQ hotel booking for at least seven nights. There's concern about the interpretation of these guidelines by embassy staff and mentions of the existing difference in insurance requirement between COE and the upcoming Thailand Pass.

CoE - 100k and TPass is 50k according to Ministery of Foreign Affairs. Insurance prices are not changing that big of a deal. 🤷‍♂️

Why only $50k, this is insurance in case you get CoVid, the fact that you stay 1 or 14 nights doesn't change the cost of chances of your getting CoVid so why would the insurance be less??

If you’re filling in COE (and embassy is accepting it ) you’ll need to fill in as per current rules ie 100k covid and 7 nights hotel. Option is to wait until thai pass is available or come in on COE and then get refund based on the new rules

No people have been getting COE with 1 night hotel booked after Nov 1st

i arrive 5th November. My embassy says my COE will be reduced from 7 nights to 1, at Thai immigration. My AQ hotel sent new 1 test, 1 night stay confirmation certificate, with reduced price and refund the difference promise.

a promise that is unlikely to materialise

the Thai officials at the airport tell the hotel how many nights you are to stay...hotel must comply and refund if less nights.

the health desk in BKK will stamp a bit of paper that will have in red quarantine for x days. No one has seen any of the new stamps. The health stamp over rides everything.

I don't mind. My AQ hotel is good. Be my 2nd quarantine there.

Prob charge the same price for less coverage anyway .

You would presume US$ 50,000 but who knows what people at embassy might say.

So really you need to ask at embassy where your COE will be processed. Its all very new and embassy staff are well known for interpretating guidelines in different ways.
