I know this has probably been asked a lot but I can’t find any answers. I am going to Thailand in January. Where is the best place to get the Covid health insurance certificate and the confirmed Asq hotel booking . I also read the hotel booking is no longer required because they are doing the new test that gives you results in 15 minutes and all you do is go to one of the hotels . How do I know which hotel to go to for the test and arrange that . Sorry just a little confused . Please help. Thanks .

TLDR : Answer Summary
The original query concerns the latest requirements for traveling to Thailand in January, specifically regarding Covid health insurance certificates and confirmed ASQ hotel bookings. Following comments clarify that the previous hotel booking requirement has been canceled due to new testing protocols, although uncertainty remains about the implementation of rapid antigen tests. Users suggest various insurance providers such as Tune Insurance and AXA Thailand, and share firsthand experiences on obtaining Covid health insurance certificates and booking hotels for quarantine purposes. The importance of checking insured hotels listed on the Thailand Pass site is emphasized, and suggestions for contacting hotels for quarantine quotes are provided.

I used AXA insurance they send you a certificate stating covid cover and stayed at bestbella Pattaya in Pattaya. They do everything for you but you don't have to stay there for one night you only have to stay in room until test comes back , mine took about 6hrs . The hospital ring your room and you can go if you want

They have not announced use of rapid antigen testing and likely will not. So you’ll still need a hotel.

I shopped around for insurance and ultimately decided on AXA Thailand as it’s very well known and accepted by Thai Pass and has what looks like pretty decent coverage generally over and above just COVID.

If you go to the Thailand Pass site and go through the process to the point where you’d indicate the hotel you’ll be staying at, you will see they have a list of hotels that they recognize. I cross referenced my picks against this list to make sure. Not sure it matters ultimately but I bet it can’t hurt.

I contacted hotels via FB Messenger and email but mostly on Line which is a very popular messaging app in Thailand.

This is what I asked and it’s what I would suggest you ask;

Hello,

I need a QUOTE for a single night quarantine for ___ people.

Please provide a price that includes;

X people

- Room (24hr)

- RT-PCR tests for each of us

- Meals for each of us

- Rapid antigen test to take with us when we leave

I used Tune insurance Thailand. 8000 baht for 3 month.

If you don't feel confident as I felt use an agency. I can reckomend SQ.in.th who give you money back if they fail to get your booking done on time for your departure. Their fee was approx 3000 baht.

I wouldn't use tune if my life depended on it. Yes bad experience last year. Go for a cover that covers you where you can contact someone lol

Do they send insurance certificate straight away? I'm still waiting. Had 1 email with claim forms. Maybe it's the weekend.

ok so test and go is for you.

There is lots of insurance available, i used arawan namak as i live in Thailand.

There are cheaper alternatives from your home country but got to be careful it includes covers quarantine for those unfortunate to be near someone who tests positive

are there any insurance companies that cover quarantine if in contact with someone positive? Even the AXA one that is advised by the Thai embassy doesn’t cover this, I’ve rang multiple insurance companies that will only cover if you are positive

@Daniella *********
yes the one I had did. I booked it through arawan namak
