So how do I plan for a late arrival into BKK due to delay on the part of the airline?

United just changed my flight (for the 17th time since Dec 2019) to now include an extra connection with a 45 min layover into LAX b4 I board my flight onto Narita/Tokyo!!

My initial plan is (1) contact ASQ hotel (2) contact insurance agent/company (3) edit details via CoE

What else should I plan for? And how am I supposed to come up with new paperwork when I’ll probably be camped out in a terminal corner somewhere. Some airports have crappy wifi and minimal outside mobile connections also!

Issues with fit2fly, RT-PCR test?

TLDR : Answer Summary
The traveler is seeking advice on how to manage a potential late arrival in Bangkok due to frequent flight changes and delays. They emphasize the need to contact their ASQ hotel, their insurance agent, and edit travel documents like the Certificate of Entry (CoE). They express concern about obtaining new paperwork while dealing with limited resources and connectivity at airports.

This is all utterly ridiculous

Really , isn't it time for the Thai Government and Immigration to step foward and stop this insane negative clampdown on genuine tourist that just want to come and support the local wonderful Thai street and business people.We only come to support you.Let us back in to support you.Thx.

"Genuine tourists" can come to Thailand, albeit with a few hoops to jump through, but that's going to be the new normal everywhere now. Despite many businesses struggling the health of the nation surely must be the first priority.
Pascal ********
Frankly who wants the tourist from some countries in Europe to come back to Thailand? these people can not discipline themself regarding the virus in their own countries and you want them to travel to Thailand???? must be joking :) wait and see with the vaccine
Bobby ********
Pascal Laigle. I've seen some go into emotional meltdown after being asked to wear a mask in a shop. That wouldn't go down too well in Thailand!

Steve,my Thai wife has lived with me in Canada for 10yrs.we just want to be able to travel back each way.I need the retirement visa.,any advice appreciated . thx.
Steve **********
@Dennis **********
Family is different. Retirement visa

Is much easier and cheaper for those with thai wife .
Steve *******
@Steve *********
Are you sure? Non Imm O based on marriage is much easier than based on being over 50(retirement) plus the extentions of stay requires less finances. Prices are exactly the same for both visas and extentions.

@Dennis **********
no. It’s not time at all. If you truly want in, quarantine is a small price to pay. Otherwise, keep your Covid there. Thailand doesn’t want it

agree! What a nightmare! That’s why I’m still home!
Dennis ***********
@Gene *********
,Gene,I normally get a 6mth visa,yet I still have to do a visa run (CAMBODIA )each 60 days,this cost me the original cost of my visa. (paying twice)plus 2 whole days visa run.it is insane.I will upon return marry my Thai wife and apply for marriage visa.we have been C/LAW partners for 23yrs. registered in Canada . But is not excepted in Thailand . We have property (2)and bank accounts , surely the government should relish our kind of applying for residents .Your thoughts.THX
Steve **********
@Dennis **********
agree, they should...but
Bobby ********
Dennis Grenaghan. Couldn't you have just got the marriage visa 23 years ago? Surely that would have been simpler than playing the system to your own detriment? Thailand is what is, we are all aware of how it operates.
Michael ********
Do you still have same flight number/date on arrival into bangkok ?

@Michael *******
cool, thanks! I will try to contact them via Skype to see if someone answers. I have a 4 hour layover before getting on flight to BKK.

@Steve ******
dont forget T8 form will need on arrival Bangkok, they have hard copies available but easier if you have ready and all paperwork in one folder for them to check on arrival.

and I guess I should plan as well if it isn’t the same flight into BKK. Only With my luck this would probably happen.
Michael ********
@Steve ******
i am sure there will be somewhere in Narita to get a print. Hotel only needs e mailed copy.

everyone that’s gone through that airport lately says there are barely any shops even open. And I don’t belong to any members club with ANA.
Michael ********
Same with checking in, if they need hardcopy for records they will ask you to e mail to them.

Easier obviously if you can get hard copy but you have approval to fly.
Michael ********
@Steve ******
main one is getting on flight, if worse case scenario you arrive in Bangkok without one, they are not likely to send you back and they will either accept your digital copy or ask you to mail somewhere to print out.
Steve *******

@Michael *******
yes the arrival in BKK will be via the same flight just different day. The flight i will inevitably miss is the one before the flight into BKK
Michael ********
Apparently quite easy to alter COE
Michael ********
@Steve ******
you have to adjust COE accordingly and advise hotel when get new COE, you may want to advise them before but they will need copy of updated COE.
Steve *******

@Michael *******
so a digital copy emailed would do? And in BKK at immigration? I don’t see much of an opportunity to produce a hardcopy before I get there.
Bobby ********
So how many hours/days later do you arrive in Bangkok?
Steve *******
ORIGINAL POSTER
@Bobby *******
if I miss this flight it will be 1 day over my original arrival date.
Bobby ********
Steve Craft. Notify the embassy, get a new COE showing changed details, and email to ASQ so they can adjust your booking accordingly
