Question: Please go easy on me people.

I'm applying in Malaysia as an American. The application asks for city of birth. My passport has the state I was born in not the city. Would you put both the city and the state? Or only the city? I would imagine all the relevant info is in their computer system. I don't want to F this up and be rejected. Your help is appreciated.

Thank you for this excellent platform for discussion on Thai visas and all things Thai. I have a lot of questions as we plan our move to Bangkok (probably) next year. Here's my first one. I have both American and UK passports, which would be the better one to use for a retirement visa application in Thailand?

My Ed visa expires the 2nd of march. My university has informed me it could be up to 3 months till I get my final official transcripts.

Would it be possible to leave and come back on the 30 day exemption(American passport) then do a 30 day extension and if needed do a 60 day family extension.

I already have job offers but the contracts would start in April or May. Is it possible to get a work permit/visa without official transcripts if from a Thai university? Or am I at the mercy for my university to get my transcripts before the start date and risk it?

Where does one go in Chiang Mai for an extention on a 30 day visa to get another 30 days? Do Canadian and American passport holders go to the same place?

American passport, currently visa exempt.

Going to IT Square Lakshmi tomorrow.

Do I need a tm30 or a tm6?

They didn't hand out the tm6 on the airplane this year, I heard it was now just for land border crossing. Can anyone confirm?

I have the passport photos and the tm7 from my hotel.

And I have photocopies of my passport and entry stamp pages.

Anything I am forgetting?

Bonus points if you have been to this specific location recently.

Thanks in advance!

American passport. ED visa extension ends December 24th. My flight home is december 26th.

The person who handles the paperwork for my school is out of the country, and won't return until the 23rd. I was planning on going to immigration on the 22nd. My new plan is to get the paperwork on the 23rd and go to immigration on Monday the 25th, Christmas. I read going in on the first business day after a stamp expires is ok, no fine imposed.

I see conflicting information about getting a 7 day 'get out of thailand' stamp. Do I need to file for and get denied an extention to get the stamp or will immigration just give me one on the 25th?

Also, if i just overstay 2 days after canceling my visa, and pay fine at the airport, will a 2 day overstay affect any future ED visa applications? I am planning on returning next year and attending university.

How long can each visit to Thailand be with an American passport. If I plan on staying for 6 months initially and possible plans to stay longer , what kind of visa will I eventually need: I am 39 so won’t qualify for retirement visa.

Thank you
