I have an American and a Brazilian passport, cant decide which one to use to apply. I have my company registered in the US and make in USD, but also have an address in Brazil, just not in my name (my address in the us is not In my name either). The Brazilian passport is cheaper to apply and its viewed a bit better in Thailand I think compared to the American, but im also afraid that doing so while having my company in the US and earning in USD would not be ideal.
Answer summary
The discussion revolves around the choice between using an American or Brazilian passport for a Thai visa application. The user considers the Brazilian passport due to lower application costs and perceived better reception in Thailand. Commenters highlight the American passport's advantages, such as stronger international standing and its connection to the user's business in the US. There's also talk about visa-free stay durations for Brazilians in Thailand compared to Americans, as well as the importance of having documentation in order regardless of the passport chosen.

Eu tb tenho 2 passaportes , as agências aqui na Tailândia, me recomendaram usar o Europeu .

could be the fact that Brazilians get 90 days visa free Vs just 60 for US-citizens?

@Christer ****
and that has nothing to do with the Brazilian passport being looked at in a better light than a US passport by the thai powers the be, and everything to do with the reciprocal agreement that when Thai national show up in Brazil they get 90 days and that's why Brazilians get 90 days when they show up here just like people from argentina, chile, peru, and South Korea do

I think you are confused.. Brazilianz get 90 days here only because thaiz get 90 days when they show up in Brazil, it's nothing to do with preferred anything. They have a reciprocal entry agreement

So I'll just parrot what you said :P

The American passport is viewed much better than a Brazilian passport. Also your business is in the US, and I hope you've been paying your income taxes.

Why do you hope he is paying his income taxes?

Julia Hazan Barreto well, if you paid your taxes you’re good because they will ask you to show. What makes you think Brazilian passport is better viewed? And what makes you think it’s cheaper to apply with Brazilian passport? Each consulate/embassy has it’s application fee(around 300-400$) which is the same regardless of your nationality

Doesn't really matter. I have 3 citizenships and passports.

I use my Aussie passport the most so I applied using that.

My business is registered in Ghana and the bank account showing the minimum bank balance requirement is in the UAE.

Wasn't an issue for my workcation application at all. As long as you can explain clearly how it all works for you choose the more convenient passport for yourself.

Oh, and you will declare the other citizenship in the application anyway.
