Thailand's Ministry of Foreign Affairs is still deliberating the possibility of reducing the visa-free period for foreign tourists from 60 days to 30 days, with no decision made thus far.

I have a query regarding the recently introduced visa-waiver program for Indians and Taiwanese visiting Thailand. This is Aseem from India. I'd like to know which documents are necessary for entry into Thailand and for taking advantage of the visa-free facility at the airports. As of now, my understanding is that we need to have the following: return or onward flight tickets, hotel reservations, proof of financial means, and a valid passport.
I have a few specific questions:
1. Can we opt for a border run instead of booking a return or onward flight?
1. Is it possible to enter Thailand by land, for example, through Cambodia or Laos, to utilize this facility? Is it a viable option for those entering by land?
1. What is the required amount of proof of funds for entry? Is it 10,000 THB, 20,000 THB, or even more?
1. Can the initial 30-day visa-waiver stay be extended by visiting the local immigration office?
I would greatly appreciate some clarification on these matters.
"If entering Thailand by land or sea, eligible travelers holding normal passports will be granted visa-free travel to Thailand twice per calendar year. There is no limitation when entering by air."
Hello. I am coming to Thailand with visa free 14 days stamp and now would like to go to Siem reap to travel for about 2 days. Then, would like to come back to Thailand by bus.
