As an Australian Citizen I receive 60 days visa free on arrival at BKK. I can then extend for 30 days at Immigration. If I then depart BKK and fly return to Vientiane, Laos VTE OR Kuala Lumpur, Malaysia KUL for a few days.... can I then get another 60 days visa free on arrival back in BKK? Also, can I then apply at immigration for a 30 day extension at Immigration? The total period is approximately six months with a few days exit in the middle.

Thank you in advance for any helpful replies.

I am looking for some information because I am unsure of what the process.

I will be returning to Thailand at the end of this month I am an Australian citizen so I guess I will get the 30 day entry visa however I would like to apply for the retirement visa.

I am not sure but I think I would have to apply for the three month extension and at the same time apply for the retirement visa.

Is this the correct and easy way of doing it I had been living in Thailand previously for six years but that visa as well and truly expired however I still have the required money in the bank.

I would appreciate any help or further information of what the correct procedure is.

Thank you in advance

Well, now that I'm in Bangkok, I have an update regarding my 90 visa.

First of all, the many commentors pointing out that it was actually only a 60 visa, and I would find out once immigration stamped my passport, well they were correct.

Why did I think I had. 90 day visa? Well because I spoke with the Thai embasssy in Austrlia and was advised to apply for an e-visa and selcted 90 days as duration of stay and upload inbound and outbound flight details. Which I did.

Worst part is that it cost me AUD$300 to apply for a visa that I did not need because Australian citizens get 60 days visa exempt on arrival.

Thanks to all that commented.

AUSTRALIAN INFO:

I have some questions, NZ Citizen (NZ Passport), Aus Permanent Resident.

I am considering going to BKK for a Vasectomy Appointment. Will be one Appointment but can book in follow up Appointments x4.

My Questions for anyone that has applied from Aus.

1. What is the waiting time?

2. How many months previous bank statements were required?

3. How was the overall application process?

4. For medical applicants, how much documentation did you have to provide? Is confirmation of medical appointment enough, or do you need X amount of appointments?

I have used the search engine but nothing specific has been shown.

Any other Aussies with experience, feel free to drop a comment or DM.

Thanks to all in advance

Apologies if this is obvious to many but better to check then fall fowl. If I enter visa exempt (From Australia), the 30 days starts on the date of the stamp in my passport on day of arrival and I have to leave on or before the 30th day? Booking flights and want it right. Thanks in advance.

Hey Everyone,

I’m going to Thailand in January for three months to do an internship. I am coming from Australia. What is the best way to go about getting a visa, is it possible to do it online or do I need to go to the embassy/consulate. I’ve heard from another group that I may need the company to submit one for me. Just looking for a bit of advice.

Cheers

Hi everyone. Quick question about the 6 month multi-entry tourist visa. I'm an Australian, do I need to apply via the consulate in Sydney, or can I apply via any Thai embassy/consulate in the world? (for example - in Kuala Lumpur). Any other advice would be appreciated regarding ME tourist visas, this will be my first time applying. Thank you for the help.
