Good morning. I need help. I have been living in Thailand for two years. My baby was born few months ago. I am a proud father 😊. I have been on a non-o visa since then. However, when extending the visa, I was told at the immigration office that as a father I could apply for a 12-month visa. An additional advantage of this 12-month visa is the fact that it can be extended every year by one year without having to leave the country. This is a very good option. However, in order to obtain this visa, I must obtain a document from the juvenile court stating that I am the father because I am not married to the child's mother. So I went to the court to submit the documents and was told that as a foreigner I could not do it in person. I need to hire a lawyer. How is this possible? Why can't I submit the documents myself? The cheapest lawyer we could find was 20,000 baht! This is ridiculously expensive. Even in Europe, legal services are several times cheaper. I don't understand why I can't submit the documents myself and go this route without hiring a lawyer. Is this another farang money grab? Can anything be done? Or maybe do you know any other option for a father who wants to be with his child? Thank you for all your help.

Sorry for my English, this is a translation because English isn't my native.

Hello everyone,

Am I (biological mother) - single mom by Choice (without marriage ties) want to bring back my daughter (child under the age of 3 years 9 months) who had previously been taken away by biological father flying to bangkok from Indonesia with an Australian passport (which has been made without my permission/approval And is currently in the process of being investigated by the Australian consulate regarding the case of information fraud in the manufacture of the passport.

Been 6 months ago, my daughter was taken away without my permission, I as the mother were not allowed to talk to my her.

And all access to communication with the biological father is blocked.

The communication through several emails contained intimidation and threats regarding the struggle for child custody.

So far, I have reported this to the police in Jakarta, the Australian embassy, the Ministry of Women and Children, the Ministry of Foreign Affairs, and are currently coordinating with the Indonesian Embassy in Bangkok.

What is the next step that I have to do in addition to coordinating in Bangkok - Thailand?

I only know about my daughter's whereabouts so far only the area where my daughter goes to school.

Some additional information:

She have 2 citizenship / passports ( INDONESIA & AUSTRALIA )

Can the Immigration office in Bangkok and or the airport let us out/fly back to Indonesia with the Indonesian passport?

Thank you in advance

Hi, quite a complicated one here.

Having left Thailand with my 2 year old son in June i was interviewed quite firmly at the airport, with the childs mum being called and having to photograph and send over documents (even though he was leaving on a British passport), before they would let me on the flight. It was a fairly intense situatiom an they also put a note in his Thai passport that i intended to return in September.

I now intend to return (with my son) in October. Having read Todds sticky im fairly concerned about what will happen at the airport as i did stay in a Thailand on covid extensions from March 2020 until June 2022 to take care of my son.

My original plan for October was to arrive on Visa exempt (45 days), get the obligatory 30 day extension, then get a further 30 days based on having a thai child, giving me a total of 105 days and returning to the UK (with my son) mid January.

My original query was to ask is it acceptable to book our return flights for January or do i need to show that i have an intention to leave within 45 days?

But now im also concerned that (a) they might possibly deny me entry due to previous covid extensions? (b) The note in my sons passport says I will return in September when in fact it will be October.

Will the fact i have my half Thai son with me, help / hinder or have no impact on my entry in to the Kingdom? Is it at all conceivable they could seperate me from my son?

Thanks in advance.

🙏

I am 49.

I am on a 1 year non-O extension based on marriage.

My extension expires in September 2022.

My I'll be 50 in August 2022.

My wife wants a divorce as soon as possible with mutual consent.

I have one half child (my son).

I'll need to inform immigration after the divorce, which means my visa extension will be cancelled immediately.

My options are:

- I can apply for a 60-day family/son visit extension.

- I can beg my wife the delay the divorce 1 year and apply for a retirement visa.

- I can extend my visa with one year based on having a half Thai child.

- I can just not inform immigration of the divorce? Can this have serious consequences?

When should I apply for the extension based on having a half Thai child, before or after the divorce? Will immigration accept joined custody on the divorce paper of the amphur (not a court paper) as a reason for a 1 year extension?

Hi all, I have a Non "O" visa multiple entry. I obtained this being married to a thai national.

We both have a 2 year old child together (my name on birth certificate).

I wish to divorce my thai wife now here is the question.

I know that if there was no child involved my Non O visa would be cancelled the minute I sign the divorce papers.

However we do have a child and I can obtain a Non O visa as a parent of a thai child, so would my my visa be cancelled or just continue as normal?

Thanks in advance.
