*Admin please delete if not allowed!!

I know my question is not visa related, but it seems a lot of families are in this group.

Can someone please tell me what secondary/international schools are like in Thailand please? Most of all, what is the situation with bullying and school policies in regards to that? Are the local kids friendly and accepting? Do they make friends with foreign kids easily, etc…? If you can share your family/kids experience in Thailand I’d greatly appreciate it 🙏

Good day, all. I'm in South Africa and plan to retire in Thailand next year. However, I want to spend a year there first to make sure it's what I want. Any tips on how I should start this process before committing full time?

I’m not sure if anyone else agrees with me (I dont care if they dont, of course) but I find it quite amusing as to how many posts are generated by or related to covid counter jumpers, bottom feeders and similar broken souls who come on this site - and similar - to beg, borrow and bribe their way through extensions to which they are patently not entitled, yet are actively encouraged by others as to how to duck, dive and break the law.

Thailand has specific immigration laws, and they are in the main designed to (a) supply Non Imm retirement visas to the elderly, (b) allow some visas for those who genuinely wish to study sport/language etc, and (c) tourists of various extensions, normally to 90 days. Of course, there are marriage visas, dip, medical etc but..as visitors here, we are obligated to obey the law and comply. if nothing else, we show the Thai the integrity of our home nation.

The plea from most of us who have lived here for years, enjoying a peaceful life and keeping our heads down, is: piss off, get the correct amount of savings, get insurance, get vaccinated, and get the correct visa to visit us in due course - we‘ll be happy to greet you. But - pleeeaase - stop skulking around, telling everyone you’re contributing to the economy (you’re not) and getting those of us farangs who are trying to keep a good reputation, tarred with the same brush as you.

Please…go.
