Obtaining Thai nationality is acknowledged to be a complex and lengthy process that typically requires a minimum of 5 years of residency, stable employment, and financial contributions to the Thai economy through taxes. Notable requirements include having a legal work permit, a non-B visa, and fluency in the Thai language to navigate the citizenship application effectively. However, many respondents emphasize the challenges faced by foreigners, including the difficulties of the application process, with various humorous and sarcastic remarks noted in the comments.
Wow there are some miserable men in these comments. I can see why they make it so hard to become a citizen.😂💀

If you are single or not married to a Thai then you have to be 3 years in Thailand working to get Permanent residence with work permit and also certain salary high enough to apply for it ,then after holding PR for 5 years you can apply for the Thai citizenship

Yes be reborn out Thai pussy all best good luck.

First step is you have to be fluent in Thai language.
Actually, I am a writer of liberal and secular ideas, and I am against the injustice, and ignorance, sectarian extremism in our society and I speak against this ignorance and extremism on social media and on various forums and platforms and I am a free speech advocate, that's why some ignorant people want to kill me, and I don't have a sponsor from America, Europe or Canada to send me there and get me a job so that I can get my family out of this hell, and Thailand is also nearer to my country and also a bit cheaper to travel, that's why I made such a post
Live here for a long time, pay income taxes, don't commit any crimes, and learn Thai language.

But in all seriousness in regards to the post. It’s very hard and lengthy to get Thai nationality, I’m not sure what country you’re from but this is just a suggestion maybe you should go to your local Thai embassy and ask them this question, because this is too much of a complex question to ask all of us professionals in this group.
dear which country are you from? OK you send me yours country Visa, I mean work visa, I will give you 15k US dollars 💵 after reaching there and I will give you 15% from my salary by every month,
Actually there is no freedom of speech and extention on my speaking on My writing,

It’s same easy and straightforward as most countries in Europe
First you have work permit and non-b visa for three consecutive years, and that allows you to apply for permanent residency. The application review process can take up to 2 years though, and you have to keep maintaining visa and work permit
after this just keep working and paying taxes for another five years maintaining work permit (no need for visa at that point anymore) and you’ll get passport
It’s easy, but takes long time

Friends, I am very thankful to all of you for all the nice and funny comments. Actually I am a cricketer and a coach and also write the truth, against child labor and abuse of women in my society and against general social oppression, against communal extremism, so I shift to a free and liberal society. I continue my efforts to be, and whatever the opportunity or platform, I must present my position,
I understand your issues, but, if i were you, i would do a thorough and appropriate research in which country would be most feasible for my wishes. Thailand is not sustainable for your wishes.
A country where you are always precarious with an expiry date like foods.
My respected friend I understand this very well and I also know that America, Europe and Canada would be better for me, but I don't have enough resources or sponsors to help me reach those countries. May I work for the welfare of humanity, and may I do so with freedom
You must work, and pay Thai income tax for at least three years, on a wage of at least bt80,000, plus other requirements. After this is approved then working and paying taxes for another 5 years, you can apply for citizenship. If you do not work legally then nothing else matters, as that is the basic requirement.

With only a couple of exceptions the replies here sick, crass or insulting - or all of these.
Why does the Admin of this group allow sick old trolls like that to remain as members of this group. It is degenerating to the extent that decent folk will simply leave and the group become a just as trashy as eg Asia Now forums.
that is basically the fee when the application for the first step, permanent residency, is approved, you pay bt195,000. The initial application fee is bt7200.
able to work in any occupation, no requirement for work permit, no requirement for visa, no 90 day reports, for scome countries (Israel springs to mind) a thai passport would help them visit Malasia and Indonesia. House book
Thailand doesn't require that. Some countries will not allow you to hold 2 citizenships. You would need to check with your own country on their policy.

I heard a young British guy got Thai nationality, lived and worked legally in Thailand for 17 years. Also he needed to prove that he completed school at the highest level. He also learned to read and write fluent Thai

3 years marriage with thai wife, 3 years workpermit, speak thai for do normal conversation. Cost 10.000 baht. I busy now start up.
you haven't done this have you. After you've legally worked for at least three years, paying Thai income tax, and making at least bt80,000 a month, plus other requirements, you can apply, with a bt7200 application fee. After the few years it takes for the application to go through the approval process, and it is approved, then you pay a bt195,000 fee. If you are married to a Thai then that final fee is just bt95,000.
nope. Permanent residency will cost a total of around 200K all in. Citizenship application cost 5K. So with all the fees for legalizing documents etc, 10K sounds about right for that.
Brandon ************
10,000 DOLLARS sure, 10,000 baht not a chance.
You can't get citizenship without getting PR first, so the cost is going to be high.
not quite,, if you're married to a thai then no need pr OR to speek thai,,, pay tax 3 years, be on the same visa extension for 3 years, married to thai 3 years. thats about it for that route...
If farang with Thai citizenship, you spend your life proving its real to no avail.

One of my Facebook friend, a foreigner , single father and a sole/primary custodian of TWO Thai boy, owing business, pay taxes and living in Thailand for decades, he finally got his Thai ID.
I have gone through getting my American citizenship and have seen my colleagues getting their Thai , I have to tell you this ; mine was sooooooooo much easier.
Thai is among country that hard to get , referring to the Korean coach Choi Young-seok. Google his name if you like .
Read again ; I was granted citizenship about three decades ago. Most importantly; if you can’t refrained from discussing political get out of this post and starting your own. By the way; Religion, politics are the subject that intelligent people do not discuss with a stranger.

yrs. I’ve picked these illegals up from hotels the govt puts them up in on our dime! Not to mention they have papers and a plane ticket to wherever they want to go in 45 days. These children that come over are put in centers from Cali to Tx. They come over and will be with someone that says there the uncle when in fact it’s not and get sent to foster parents, (some are vetted and some aren’t then they go to school at a center everyday once again paid for by us! I could tell so many stories it’s ridiculous and many of these kids are sold into sex slavery. I have a friend retired DEA and some of the stories will curl your hair! It’s disgusting! The Cartels own that border lock, stock and barrel plus the govt! Mush like ours! These ignorant citizens of this country haven’t a clue what’s going on but they soon will!

Amy Baron that’s the thing with you libs! The truth is right in front of you and you deny it! Get out of the Kingdom please before you fools ruin that country too
Wrong!!! Millions want to be in America but they can’t.. by the way I was granted Americans citizenship over three decades ago. Employment base , if you’re wondering 🙄
You really have no clue what’s going on and by looking at your FB page your the problem with this country not the solution! Where is your evidence of anything?? You sound like a sounding board of the lowing media! What a shame you are to this country
Listen and pay attention I can take you here in phoenixto several locations! Your ignorance is overwhelming! I get my facts from the street and people that work in these facilities on my tax dollar! It’s people like you that really haven’t a clue what’s going on and that’s what’s sad! If the media would tell you the truth then you’d know! How many examples would you like me to cite you on this because no matter what I would tell you and what I see you people don’t believe anything but that’s OK. You gotta live with this shit Ray not me. I’m out of the country in about seven months, but when they start taking all your jobs, they overwhelm your school or maybe one of them are drunk and take one of your kids that maybe you understand ! You people are very naive
There are Thai, a millions at least, trying to get visas to The United States of America. Yes, I will tell you , YOU ARE WRONG to say that everyone ; underline everyone , as your first response, can be in America!!!
