Hi everyone! 👋

Are there any people in their 20s living in Hua Hin?

I recently moved here, and it feels like there aren’t that many around, except in bars and clubs at night. 😅

If you know of any activities, groups, or places where younger people usually hang out, I’d love to hear your recommendations!
Answer summary
The discussion centers around concerns about the lack of other young expats in Hua Hin, particularly for those in their 20s. Several commenters suggest venues and activities where younger people tend to gather, like Muay Thai gyms and social groups that focus on local communities. Some point out the predominance of older residents, while others suggest exploring local Thai culture as a way to meet younger locals.

they are everywhere in hua hin. most of them thai. i mean is that not why we travel...to meet locals and experience their way of life? more and more, it seems to be an ever-growing divide between expats and locals. it was not always this way, when traveling.

There are plenty of Hua Hin Facebook groups. Ask there. Everyone on here is living in Pattaya or Bangkok and has never been to Hua Hin.

Yes but they're Thai most people in their twenties cannot legally stay in Thailand and live here. They can get short-term visas only.

You have to re-define "young". Or do something even more unthinkable and remember that there are a few Thais left in town and they have somewhat wider demographics. But cultural adjustment would be needed. Join a badminton club and you will find the game quite often played, not that standing at the net talking for hours on end thing.

Not many. I'm 36 y/o, moved 2 years ago and still haven't see anyone on theirs 30s 😂 (not that I'm actively looking).

When I go out I always see either elementary school children or very old people. Nothing in between.

Still, this isn't news about Hua Hin, tho.

If you are old....you are old everywhere. Not just Hua Hin. Just enjoy it. I have tried all the young "party" venues. Nothing helped. I just felt like an old guy trying to yak it up with the grand kids. Now the pressure is off. The whole world is "God's waiting room". Where else can you call a 65 year old man ...a youngster?

Seem to be a younger crowd there.

I am enjoying my early retirement in bkk right now. Made enough money in America where I don't have to worry about anything again. I like to feel alive and live my life in the fast lane. Hua Hin is just a bunch of dead people walking. There is zero life and zero energy. It's just a bunch of zombies.

My son came to HH when he was 21 and stayed for 12 years. He always had plenty of friends in his age group.
