Hey everyone,

This question is especially for my fellow Germans who have applied for the DTV. I submitted my application today, and the embassy has requested a "Certificate of employment from the employer that allows you to work remotely (online)" (in German: "Arbeitsbescheinigung des Arbeitgebers, der es Ihnen ermöglicht, Remote (Online) zu arbeiten").

My employer does allow me to work remotely, but I've never received an official certificate confirming it. When I called my boss (we’re a small company), he didn’t even know such a document was required. For those who have been through this: what did you do? Should my employer simply write a letter stating that I (Kevin Wojtas) am allowed to work remotely and then sign it?

If anyone has dealt with a similar situation, I’d appreciate hearing what worked for you.

Thanks in advance!

Destination Thailand Visa

Hi Everyone, Im currently applying for my DTV visa and was looking for some help if anyones in a similar case to me.

1. In regards to financial evidence, am I able to provide a invesment account statement?. I use wealthsimple and have monthly statements. I Have they money but its not liquid in my regular bank account as I invest it.

2. In regards to "Employment contract or employment certificate in their country or professional portfolio showcasing digital nomad, remote worker, foreign talent or freelancer status" I currently run a bunch of youtube channels and thats my job. Is there any other youtubers in here who have filled this out?

Youtube doesnt give contracts as we are essentially freelancers and are paid through Google adsense. However, I do have sponsorship contracts with companies. If anyone can help, I will love you forever.

Thanks in advance!

I want to issue a DTV as remote employee (not a self employed).

I am trying to understand if the requirement is to show both Letter of employment ADN a work contract, or just one of them?

I am preparing myself to apply for the DTV E-Visa (Australian) at the end of the year.

I have an employment contract signed by myself (employee) and the company director (employer). It has outlined my weekly salary and the ability to work 100% remotely in administration - an Australian company.

What other documents should I be uploading to show my employment status, if any?

And is it correct I can only apply from Australia as that’s where my employment is based?

I have a Commenwealth Bank of Australia account with the funds required.

Is a “proof of balance” letter from the bank sufficient or should I be uploading a bank statement, how many months?

Thank you all.

Destination Thailand Visa (DTV) Approved! (Long post sorry!)

Just wanted to share my experience applying for the Destination Thailand Visa (DTV) as a Philippine passport holder at the Royal Thai Embassy in Makati, Metro Manila, Philippines.

Embassy Information:

* Location: Royal Thai Embassy, Makati, Metro Manila, Philippines

* Website (Issue?): Their website for the Philippines seemed outdated, so I called them directly (I got their number through their website Consular Services > Visa Application Section). They did confirm that they are processing DTV applications and provided an email address to send my inquiry so they can respond with the complete list of requirements. They responded quickly, about 2 hours from the time I emailed them.

Application Timeline:

* Date Applied: September 9, 2024. I visited the embassy at 9:30 AM, their opening hour, they mentioned that the turnaround time is 3 business days.

* Date Approved: September 12, 2024. I was instructed to return exactly after 3 business days to collect my passport between 3:00 PM to 5:00 PM, I went at 2:40 PM today and I was surprised that they are already releasing passports before 3:00 PM. I got mine in less than 10 minutes.

Appointment Requirements:

* Appointment Needed? No appointment is necessary as they only accept walk-ins from 10:00 AM to 12:00 PM, Monday to Friday (excluding embassy holidays, refer to their PH website).

* Processing Time: My application process took about 20 minutes, including wait time. Also to mention there were only 9 people ahead of me and 3 counters are available. The officer reviewed my documents and collected the visa fee without asking any questions, likely due to my complete requirements (I assume)

Requirements I Submitted:

* Employment Contract: Signed job offer from the Philippine company I currently work.

* Certificate of Employment: Mine included the company name, annual and monthly pay, date of hire, job position, and states "Visa Application" as the purpose. It also confirms that I am authorized to work remotely.

* Bank Certification: From a local bank showing a balance greater than 500k Baht when converted from PHP. Also states that the certificate is for visa application purposes.

* Photos: 2 recent passport-sized photos (3.5x4.5 cm) with a white background.

* Visa Application Forms: Completed Visa Application Form and Supplementary Form for Filipinos, available here.

* Passport: Original passport plus a photocopy.

* Visa Fee: 18,000 PHP (cash only).

Additional Note:

* On the day of my application, there was a foreigner processing his DTV with a similar timeline and was also asked to return after 3 business days.

Hi, a few weeks ago I booked an appointment in Laos. Now, I have read many comments about the new rule requiring 500,000 THB banked for 6 months. I keep my money in my brokerage account and withdraw money as needed for living in Thailand. Recently, I withdrew 500,000 THB to my Thai bank account just to show a statement for DTV. In my 6-month statement, I withdrew and spent 2.4 million THB, or 400,000 THB per month. It is less than 500,000 THB per month. But I can show a statement from my brokerage account with an amount much greater than 500,000 THB. Also, I have a job contract, salary payment documents, and a portfolio. Will they accept it? Should I choose another Thai embassy? I booked all my flights, hotels, etc., and do not want to lose them just because of this new formal rule.

Just got approved for the DTV out of Washington D.C. For anyone that has their own LLC, I submitted the articles of incorporation and my partnership agreement as proof of documents for employment.

Last question I have before I apply is for single-member LLC owners. How did you guys go about proving you can work remotely? I started my own LLC in April. I have a couple of contracts with clients but they don’t explicitly say the work is done remotely even though they’re based in different states than myself.

Any input is welcome 🙏
