Why is my friend being repeatedly rejected for a DTV application in Thailand?

I've been trying to help my friend with his DTV application after he was rejected by Jakarta back in November (I was approved by them a week after his initial rejection).

I reviewed his docs, and while technically he met all of the conditions there were a couple of gaps which may have given them some doubt.

I then helped him to ensure all the docs went above and beyond to satisfy all of the visa conditions, and provided some extra information to support the application such as a cover letter.

He's applying for the workcation route, as a remote employee from the UK.

He's been working for the company for over a decade and after a sabbatical he re-joined as a remote employee in November to continue working in Thailand.

We provided a confirmation of employment letter, a separate letter from the directors confirming his right to work remotely from Thailand.

He has provided 3 months of bank statements which show over 600k THB each month, and included 4 payslips from his company which correlate to transactions on the statements.

Provided all the usual proof of location, passport copy including entry stamps/visa's to the applying country and his latest exit stamp from Thailand.

We also added a cover letter to explain all of the above.

He was yet again rejected by Jakarta 2 months after the 1st try. and has now been rejected again by Hanoi.

Obviously without an explanation on all 3 rejections - why could they keep on rejecting him?

TLDR : Answer Summary
The post discusses the repeated rejections of a friend's Digital Nomad Visa (DTV) application for Thailand after he initially faced rejection from Jakarta and Hanoi. Despite providing comprehensive documentation, including a confirmation of employment and financial proof, multiple rejections have raised concerns. Community members suggest potential issues with documentation, such as the absence of a formal employment contract and the nature of his work position, prompting calls for alternative visa application approaches.

Is he a UK passport holder? Any history of questionable agent “supported” visas like an ED or a Non-O for “volunteering” or protracted overstays?

There is obvious a problem, only your friend will know, pointless applying again, they will just take another B10,000! Time to move on

Several questions: was he living in Thailand before? If so, for how long and on what visa? Does this company have a presence in Thailand? Are they selling to Thai nationals or have an office/staff in Thailand?

If he is an employee he will have a contract. Why has he not submitted that contract? What is in the contract he doesn't want them to see? It's very suspicious.

He should try applying via soft power from the UK. He can still work remotely as all DTVs are the same.

They can see his previous rejections. They may now be very wary of approving him due to being risk averse. Public servants are not known for wanting to stick their heads above the parapet.

What is his job? Did you submit a contract? 3 rejections is rare so there is something substantial amiss. Maybe worth considering going via Softpower

Anonymous participant an offer of employment means he hadn’t got a job. What he should be supplying is a contract of employment, which seems to be something he doesn’t have.

Anonymous participant Is there any connection to Thailand with his job? An offer of employment?? that relates to intent to hire. If he is employed submit a contract along with a Certification of Employment. There maybe confusion with the offer of employment
