Advice please.

DTV workation from uk.

My work contract doesn’t specify work location.

I’ve asked my employer about changing it but they have asked, can they not do me an official letter instead. They’ll write what I need.

If they confirm my employment. Years service. Current salary.

Say work is done remotely from home or abroad ( including Thailand) is fine.

Anyone successfully done this? Any tips on what should be included?

TIA

Dear group, now after 8 month of soft-power DTV I might need to change my visa to a regular working visa. As I just applied to a bunch of white-collar expat jobs here in BKK and already have interviews scheduled.

I'd assume the process is pretty intense, but would be handled by (company) lawyers anyways.

Just to get a broader picture: has somebody in this group done this Visa transformation? How was it?

Anything one should know?

(PS: It would be also a bit strange and first time for me to be 'totally' in the hands of the visa sponsor company - at least this is how I'd likely feel in the first few months. What do you think?)

Hi everyone,

I'm from Germany and I've been looking for a way to get the DTV visa for Thailand for quite a while now. Unfortunately, it's pretty difficult to find remote jobs here in Germany that meet the visa requirements or allow working in Thailand legally.

I'm really curious:

What kind of jobs do you have that qualified you for the DTV visa?

Does anyone know of any German companies that offer remote work in Thailand for the DTV visa?

# I would give anything to get this visa. If anyone needs an employee, I'm here.

#

I’d really appreciate any tips or insights.

Thanks a lot and greetings from Germany! 🙏

Hi everyone,

I got a remote employee contract. However, this contract does not begin until June. Should I wait until June until I apply for the DTV visa? I have a Bank Balance about Minimum 500k.

Thank you very much!!

Hi, I am now on a Thai wife non-o visa. My understanding is that now I am eligible to work. Immigration told me to go to labour office to find details for work permit. Labour office gave me a bunch of paper in thai and say your prospective employer must fill. The prospective employer says I need to leave the country and that will arrange a business visa based on which the work permit will be granted. So what’s the truth here? Who need a business visa if married to a thai allows you to work?

My employer based in Germany wants to know if there are any requirements for him if I work for him permanently in Thailand with the DTV.

He is aware that tax and social security matters need to be clarified. But are there any other requirements that need to be taken into account?

He is worried that he will have to deal with the Thai authorities.

Has anyone here applied for a remote job with NGO? I haven’t seen any posts about it in this group and would love to hear about your experiences.

I have a Non O extension of stay (based on having a Thai child).

I have had a work permit without issue for the last 2 years.

A potential new job advises I have to leave the country to change my Non O extension of stay to a Non B to be able to work for them. The employer is in a different province.

Can anyone clarify if i absolutely have to leave to country? Surely I should just be able to continue working with the Non O?

Many thanks and apologies if I have the terminology incorrect.

Hi everyone, I'm Dita from Indonesia. I currently hold a diploma and am planning to apply for jobs in Thailand. Do companies in Thailand generally accept diplomas, or is it true that work permits in Thailand require only a Bachelor's degree?
