Hi everyone,

I currently hold a DTV visa and don’t have a Thai bank account, so I wasn’t able to set up monthly payments for my fitness membership.

Because of this, I was required to make an 8-month cash prepayment.

Also, the amount I paid was actually higher than the advertised price, and no discount was applied.

Now, for my renewal, they are asking me again to pay either 5 months or 1 year in cash.

Has anyone in a similar situation been able to pay monthly using an international credit card without a Thai bank account?

I’d really appreciate any advice or shared experiences.

Thank you!

I am looking to apply for the DTV Visa. However I have no interest in Muay Thai, on a number of levels. Instead, I'm seeking to apply on the basis of gym membership. I am in my 60s. I am good at gym and can run 10km or walk 30km in a day. I want my application to be completely genuine. From the research that I have done, I would need::

● acceptance letter from gym and trainer

● six months (preferably a year) course

● 500k THB

● gym certification/ business license

● proof of payment

● current proof of location outside Thailand

● training schedule

Please don't suggest Thai cooking as I don't wish to tarnish the good reputation of Thai cooking. Nor do I really want to do a retirement visa at this stage. I won't do anything that is contrived or nor genuine as this isn't who I am.

More specifically, has anyone else applied for a DTV as a gym membership? Thank you in advance for any positive and constructive advice. 🙏

Sports training is listed as a category on the embassy websites. So what do they mean?

On a DTV for Muay Thai. My gym membership is almost up for renewal, considering trying other gyms with DTV. Anyone out there do this yet? Any issues with the visa or need to report anything?

I'd like to get a DTV visa for a Muay Thai course but I'm looking for a Muay Thai gym that also gives you access to regular weight lifting and cardio gym equipment and doesn't require you to spar/fight other people. I want to use my membership for normal gym workouts mostly. I don't mind kicking a punch bag or practicing in groups occasionally but I don't want to spar. Is there a gym like that, that can also sponsor me for DTV? Interested in gyms in Bangkok, Hua hin and Pattaya/jomtien.

I got approved with soft power route in Hong Kong consulate after a bunch of documents.

I provided:

-Gym confirmation (need 6 months of membership)

-Documents that indicated my current location(bank statement)

-6 months of bank statement for the 500000 money( you can provide 3 months in Hong Kong too)

Additional that the HK Consulate ask for:

-Valid HK stay permit (Landing Slip/Working Visa) + HKID( no need landing slip and visa if you a HKID holder)

- Muay Thai Courses that are eligible to apply for DTV Visa must (1) be a Muay Thai Course certified by the Thailand Board of Boxing Sport (2) be held by the similarly certified Muay Thai gym (I only provided Board of Boxing Sports from Ministry of Turism and Sports)

- the applicant must demonstrate detailed portfolio of Muay Thai past experience for no less than 6 months (I gave a kind of CV for them tell what did I do, my old gym agreement and some photo of me that I captured from IG video)

-School registration and ID of authorized person's signature

By the way, please congrats me, I'm hype now

Hi, I’ve just applied for DTV visa with proof of my Muay Thai membership which has 4 years left. Although I purchased it in 2020 and it started last year from the day of my first training. Hoping they don’t go off the date it was emailed to me.

But you have to pay £300 before sending it off so has anyone had any problems with it being rejected? It says you can’t get your money back in that case

What proof should I ask to see from a Muay Thai gym before I pay them the full fee for a 6-month membership?

I know there are several Muay Thai gyms that help with DTV. Can you recommend some that have multiple locations in different parts of Thailand where it can allow you to train when you move around Thailand during the stay there?
