How does the DTV visa for Muay Thai work, and what are the requirements?
How does the soft power DTV visa work for Muay Thai? Do I need to join as a member at a certified gym for 1-1 classes for 1 year or something else? Do I need to pay this to the gym before applying for the visa? Apologies if this seems a stupid question, just trying to understand how this type of visa works. Also I need 500,000 in baht as proof of funds, is there anything else I need to do? Thank you
Answer summary
The DTV visa for Muay Thai allows expats to train in Thailand. To apply, you need to enroll at a certified Muay Thai gym for a course, typically lasting 6 months, and pay for it before applying for the visa. The gym will help with the necessary paperwork for the visa application. Additionally, you must show proof of funds, which is usually 500,000 baht or its equivalent, to support your stay.

You need to contact a muay thai gym first and ask them about their course and if it is DTV approved. Yes you pay yhem for the course before you apply for the visa since the muay thai gym will need a copy of your passport to send details to the ministry to get you registered and give the muay thai gym the appropriate paperwork to send to you, you need this as proof in your application to the embassy.

For most embassies a 6 month course would suffice.
It’s 500k baht or equivalent. Doesn’t have to be Thai baht.
