Iโve decided to get a Thai drivers license. My wife and I live in Phichit. I have US drivers license with motorcycle stamp, I have my IDP from AAA that is current. My question is I have a yellow book and pink thai ID card. ๏ฟผ Will that suffice as a certificate of residency?

TLDR : Answer Summary
The user inquires whether a yellow book and Thai ID card will suffice as proof of residency when obtaining a Thai driver's license. Responses indicate that acceptance of the yellow book varies by location; some say it is no longer accepted at most DLT offices, which now require a certificate of residence from immigration, while others report that it was accepted in their recent applications. Additionally, some users noted that a medical certificate and passport were necessary.
The biggest scam in Thailand you need a Residents Certificate for just about everything p.s take more Passport pictures than you need as they love shoving people to the back of the queue
I was given a choice when I applied for my driving license just last week. I can get immigration backing or use my yellow book. It was a no brainer, I used the yellow book
I renewed my licences at the LTO in CM a couple of months ago.. they accepted my yellow book as proof of address without any debate.. it never crossed my mind that they wouldn't tbh.. the whole point of the yellow book system is to evidence your official address after all.. in the same way as the blue book system works for Thai nationals.
Most DLT offices no longer accept yellow book for proof of residence and now require a new certificate of residence from immigration for all applications.
