I converted my Visa extension by Marriage to Retirement last month. At my next 90 day report I need to also show my funds have not dropped below 800,000 baht. Now, my wife is demanding a divorce. If I divorce before the 800,000 baht review will there be a problem?
A lot happened due to Covid 19. Family members and also a lot of money were lost.
In short me and my ex wife got divorced 2 days ago but I can t really leave Thailand right away as my home country is in a bad situation. I also over-stayed my visa 10 days as my ex insisted on getting divorced before I leave and everything happened so fast. I entered Thailand on Non-o Based on marriage. I know that it gets cancelled after the divorce but
is there any chance I can get at least a 30 days Covid extension? Or at least 2 weeks? I need this time to prepare my flight and everything else since I m in a financial pinch until next week. I don't want to mess with the Immigration authorities so any advice is priceless. I can pay the over stay but I want to know what to expect at the office tomorrow. Thanks
I am on a non-O immigrant visa, expiring Dec 2021 ( 11 months left). I also have a work permit expiring Dec 2022.
Planning to get a divorce next month.
Question: Can I stay in Thailand after my divorce? Or need to fly out and re-apply for a non-B?
Worried about: Divorce process automatically informing immigration and my non-O will be cancelled. And when I apply for a visa when my non-O visa, I might be fined / kicked out for overstaying on my non-O while I was divorced.
My friend who's a Canadian on a Non-O Visa based on thaï wife, currently on a year extension ending late 2021, is getting divorced.
He tells me he has to notify Immigration as soon as the divorce papers are signed. Then his visa will be cancelled and given 7 days to leave the country to make another visa.
What are his visa options. He also owns a company with assets but it is inactive.
