Why did KTB Bank refuse to replace my debit card despite having a Thai wife visa?

All banks are trying to get rid of " physical card " they want u to verify and use your phone for everything...

Cash is king! When they said I can have a debit card for 500bht, I said I wont need one!!

On the K bank app you can request a new debit card.

Why go to a branch when they will post it to you in 5-7 days?

By the looks of it, seems that you have a wife but not the Visa.

If you have a non O marriage visa, they will do it in any branch. If you have no visa, they will not do it.

I had a debit card that expired. They didn't replace it. I do everything online now, including ATM.

Have you lost any of their cards before ?

This is like the reverse of taking away your wife’s credit card in the west 🤣

I really can’t fully grasp why the banks are so hard to deal with. They made it easy for me. I have DTV and I went to every bank I could with my Thai partner so nothing lost in translation. They all said either Work Permit or Non O Visa.

DTV works for me as I can continue my work remotely. But I will essentially live here for next 5 years but without a local

Bank account.

but you can transfer money or take money out from App.

Do you have a valid Non O Visa? Without the Visa you can’t open a bank account just being married to a Thai doesn’t give you any perks unfortunately
