DTV APPROVED - Jakarta (Muay Thai)

DTV APPROVED - JAKARTA (MUAY THAI) UPDATED + DEPENDANT VISA.

I've already posted the following, but now we also have my partner approved as a dependant, so updated the info below with more details to perhaps help some others that are planning to apply.

Visa type: DTV – Soft Power (Muay Thai) (Main applicant)

Nationality: Netherlands

Age: 28

Embassy: Jakarta

Applied: 11 December

Additional documents requested: 26 December (passport photos only)

Uploaded the same day, status moved straight to pending approval

Approved: 04 January 2026

Details:

Employment status: unemployed

Funds: more than 4x the minimum required balance in my bank account

No cover letter or extra explanations submitted, only the required documents in the application

Documents uploaded:

Bank statement with opening balance, closing balance, and income highlighted

Muay Thai gym documents merged into one PDF (used ilovepdf.com):

Invitation letter

Gym business license

Owner’s ID copy

Also, for place of issue for my passport, in my specific case I just put exactly as written in my passport: ' Burg. van Amsterdam', however, for my wifes dependant application, since she is a Spanish passport holder, and for the place of issue it states a very long weird 'code' with letters and numbers mixed, we just put ' SPAIN', and she was approved without any notes regarding this.

Dependant visa for my wife:

Applied January 9, additional docs requested on the 24th of January: New clearer passport photo, all pages of the passport + our marriage certificate translated by a certified translator.

We just took a new photo on an iphone with a white background, took all pics of the passport, and for the marriage certificate, it was already an international marriage certificate, with multiple languages including English, my guess is they didnt notice. So instead of having it translated, I just reuploaded the same, highlighted the English parts, and wrote a small cover letter explaining this, and to have it translated would probably take another week or more.

Uploaded all of these within 3 hours after receiving the doc request.

January 26 the status moved to pending approval and today 28 it got approved without any further questions/notes.

Also, I wrote a sponsor letter with chatgpt stating I will cover all expenses etc as my wife does not officially 'work' either. Along with that I uploaded 6 months of my own bank statements with my name on it.

Overall the process was smooth and straightforward. Just took a bit longer than I hoped, but yeah the holiday season.

Hope this helps!

Have a complex application - husband is eligible for retirement visa with decent UK income. I am 48 and his dependant. We also have an 18 yr old who is an online A-level student for the next 12 or 24 months (exam dependent) then he will be off to uni in the UK.

We are currently travelling in Egypt on a 6 month tourist visa.

Should we apply to the embassy here in Cairo ? Or do we come for a visit to Thailand and then apply there using an agent? Not sure what is the easiest and best way to apply.

Thanks for any advice - appreciated much!

Does anyone know, if a husband and wife are applying for a DTV through a Muay Thai gym, is it enough for one person to apply to the program and then their spouse can apply by being the spouse of the person training at the Muay Thai gym? Or would they both need to buy a membership from the gym to qualify?

Hey Guys,

I have seen conflicting information so I was hoping I could get some clarification. I am in Hanoi processing my DTV. I am going to be adding my husband as a dependent. It looks like I have to wait for my visa to be approved before applying for him. Do we need to stay out of the country until both of the visas are approved? Would rather not stay in Vietnam so long. Can I add him to my visa from Thailand?

Hi everyone,

After my father’s passing, my 56-year-old mother wants to move to Thailand to be closer to me. I’m currently living in Thailand on a DTV visa, but she doesn’t have the 800,000 baht required for the retirement visa. Our French embassy still issues income declarations, but they’re solely based on honor without any verification.

If she comes to Thailand without a visa, can we use the French embassy’s income declaration for her initial O visa application? By the end of the first year, she will have the 12 monthly payments of 65,000 baht required for renewal.

Thank you in advance for your advice!

Can someone or visa agency provide recommendations for bilingual schools (EP programme) for two children, aged 11 years old and their Mom with Chinese passports? In Bangkok, preferably near Sathorn area, not international schools with high school fees. Must be able to apply for student visa and dependant visa for the Mom. Thank you in advance!
