Hello everyone,

I am getting lot of important tips from this group but seems like there is not a lot of information about getting DTV as a dependent spouse😅

My spouse got his DTV in November. I am going to apply in HCM in 3 weeks time. I have 500k in my account but I don’t work. How long does it take as a spouse? Would it be faster since they already gave DTV to my husband and I will be the dependent?

Would really appreciate it if you share your experience on this 😇

Hanoi Approval! USA Remote Worker

I found these posts so helpful so wanted to add my own experience.

- 2/19: application submitted in the afternoon

- 2/20: status changed from document check to pending approval

- 2/27: approval email sent at nearly 10pm!

** Update: dependent spouse

- 2/27: submitted their application immediately after getting my visa, late at night

- 2/28: they requested an updated bank statement

- 3/1: thankfully my bank posted the February statement right away so i uploaded it on Saturday

- 3/3: status changed to pending approval

- 3/5: visa approved around 7pm

I do feel that was kind of long for a dependent one but oh well. **

I was not asked for anything extra, and here is what I submitted:

Proof of finances: 6 months of bank statements meeting requirements. I used the first page as well as any pages with payroll deposits and highlighted those

Proof of job: very brief cover letter explaining what I do (regular employee of a company), how long I’ve worked there, and why I want to apply. Then a letter from my manager (again super super simple. Just confirmed start date, remote status, and direct deposit payroll), and the company’s business registration from the state SOS where they are headquartered. Our internal HR system also has some pages showing management hierarchies so I screenshotted the part showing my name and my managers, and my employee overview page which shows start date and confirms remote status.

Proof of location: entry stamp and hotel booking.

In my very limited and anecdotal experience, include as much as you can! I am now applying for my spouse so will update when that one is complet. Thank you and viva Thailand 🇹🇭

Hi, similar to comment below about Non-O and non-B couple but different Q. We've just arrived. My husband (teacher) is getting a non-B I think from our current 90 days O types. I will be dependent spouse as couldn't move with my job, but want to work and thinking of setting myself up for DTV, then leaving country to apply when my current 90 days expires then coming back in if successful on it. We're about to sign a tenancy agreement in both our names. Is this fine or should we put it just in his name? Just wondering if going to be an issue to have a residential agreement with my name on it if I'm applying for DTV from another location...?

Change Non-O (retirement) to DTV.

Morning.

So I have a Non-O EOS till next March, but would like to change to DTV sooner than that. Reasons are apparent ease of application for dependant spouse (Cambodian) and due to the nature of her job, the Cambodian gov don't want her to have a long-term Thai Visa. Cambodia calls the DTV a special tourist visa.

I own and run a property business in the UK remotely, though it requires several trips back per year.

Do I need to do anything with the Non-O in Thailand before applying for DTV in Cambodia (inform, cancel etc)? I have a multi-entry permit.

Many thanks.

I have just got the 90 day non-o trailing spouse / dependent visa at Penang and I wanted to ask if anyone knows what my local immigration is likely to need for my 12 month extension.

Before you say ask your local immigration. I have and as I'm English with English husband they were unsure but said get the 90 day then come back and they would try and find what I needed.

I'm passing through Bangkok on my way back to Pai so if I am likely to need translation of marriage cert or whatever I'd like to get that sorted while I'm in Bangkok rather than have to travel back down from Pai.

I tried to post this question before but was declined as it's not a visa question? Not surprising I can't find the answer on the search 😁

Has any British person on a Non O based (on being over 50) been able to recently successfully add a British spouse (under 50) to their Non O in a neighbouring country? Thanks

Hi, quick question I’m a 56 year old hoping to retire to Thailand early next year, I’m wondering what visa is better for me a non o visa based on retirement obtained in Thailand or a o-a visa obtained in the UK ? I will be having health insurance no matter what visa I decide so the cost won’t matter. Thanks for any answers

Tod and Robert, my missus has a "retirement visa" ( the one you get in-country). Is it in any way cheaper/easier/better for me to get a dependent spouse visa off of hers or might I just as well do my own "retirement visa"? TIA.

Hi guys, can any company deny/reject a request for non-o dependent spouse from their foreign employees? or maybe the HR is not helpful or don't know what to do?
