I applied for a one year extension of my wife's 90 day Non O visa on a dependent spouse basis. I have a Non O-A visa. Immigration rejected our application because our marriage license document was a photocopy. We cannot find our original marriage license, we are therefore in the process of having a certified copy authenticated in the US (county, state, federal, and Thai consulate in LA). As a backup, we went to Laos, got her a fresh 90 day Non O, returned, opened her own Kbank savings account, and deposited 800K baht into it.
I plan to use the authenticated marriage license copy, after we have it translated and legalized by the MFA, to apply again for a one year extension based on the dependent spouse status. If we are successful, does she have a financial requirement for her next 1 year extension?
lf we can't get the dependent spouse route to work, for whatever reason, we can present her bank passbook. In this situation, I assume my wife will need to keep 400K baht in her account permanently while making the 65K baht monthly transfer. Simultaneously, I also need 800K for my first 1 year extension, and then 400K balance permanently too (again with 65K monthly transfers) for my Non O-A.
Are there any flaws in this plan? Does this approach sound right?
