So I have a Non-O EOS till next March, but would like to change to DTV sooner than that. Reasons are apparent ease of application for dependant spouse (Cambodian) and due to the nature of her job, the Cambodian gov don't want her to have a long-term Thai Visa. Cambodia calls the DTV a special tourist visa.
I own and run a property business in the UK remotely, though it requires several trips back per year.
Do I need to do anything with the Non-O in Thailand before applying for DTV in Cambodia (inform, cancel etc)? I have a multi-entry permit.
Many thanks.

TLDR : Answer Summary
The user currently holds a Non-O visa and wishes to switch to a DTV (Special Tourist Visa) sooner than the expiration of their Non-O visa in March. They are concerned about the implications for their dependent spouse’s visa status and the potential need to inform or cancel their current Non-O visa before applying for the DTV. Responses suggest waiting until the Non-O visa expires since having two valid Thai visas simultaneously is not allowed.
I understand what it is that you are wanting to do. But I think you will need to wait until your current Non O based extension of stay expires in March 2025.
That's because you cannot have two valid Thai Visa's at the same time.
And with the multiple re-entry permit now in your passport good thru March 2025, the ability to simply depart Thailand without a re-entry permit is not possible.
If you did not have a re-entry permit, simply by departing Thailand without one in your passport would have ended the Non O based extension of stay.
